Well there you go

I honestly prefer VNs to have H-scenes, it is not that important but i think they do add depths to the heroines in my opinion, also it makes playing the VN a bit "rewarding" if you know what i mean ... ;)

with that said, i do end up skipping most of them anyway LOL well most of the H-scenes i encountered are exceedingly long, i get bored really even before halfway through.

however, so far the only VN which i haven't skipped the H-scenes at all are Katawa Shoujo, i think the H-scenes in that VN are unique.

And Saya no Uta, well i actually liked the H-scenes there.

anyway, do share what you think.

Edit: please be honest about your gender :D

Says I need to cast my vote in both sections, but I'm just a dude  :-/

ohhh my bad my bad i wasn't expecting that, wait i'll fix that

Edit: Done !

In that case I'm gunna vote "I only play VNs with H-scenes." for Females so I can tarnish their image. :illya:

Hahaha you're evil :P

There's no option for "I don't even consider the existence of h-scenes, but only the overall quality of the game and story," but that's what I do. Sex is natural so it isn't strange if it's present in the game. But it's also not necessary to telling a good story. Games that have obviously gratuitous sex that has nothing to do with the message the story is trying to convey bug me.

That's not to say there's no place in the world for nukige. The purpose of nukige is clearly not storytelling, which is great; it's honest about what it is. What I dislike are games that are stuck somewhere between storytelling and porn without doing a proper job of either.

Sakura series, I'm looking at you.

I prefer VNs with H-scenes but I don't need them. Honestly I don't even really enjoy the H-scenes themselves but more the build up that comes with them. A lot of the time I find they go on too long for my taste.

There should also be an option for "Don't really care either way" for both genders. Because I do consider them, but I don't really have a preference. But I suppose "don't consider" is close enough.

Don't care either way, but I disable h-content if possible and generally tend to skip through most h-scenes not pertinent to the plot. The only time I slowly advance h-scenes is when I read VNs on my 52" TV with friends. Yep, that's a thing.

No pants have ever been unzipped, as it is entirely for the comedic value.

We play Nukige for the story. Right ?

Of course. Nukige tends to be deeply philosophical in nature.

I prefer NOT to have H-scenes.. I don't need to see this garbage, and it never adds to the story. I also can't read a VN in peace without worrying someone will walk in on me.

It seems I'm in the minority.

I didn't vote because there wasn't an option to say it depends. Well, I'd rather play the 18+ version of a VN but for choosing between a VN that's 18+ only and another which is All Ages only, the h itself usually doesn't play a role (unless its exclusion seems detrimental to the game, I have no problem with H).

I am not a child to be afraid of someone coming and seeing me in the middle of h-scene :)

So I can say I always prefer to play VN with h-scenes (since it started long time ago, with old games from PC-98 like Three Sisters Story, Nocturnal Illusion, Divi-Dead and stuff like that, which had quite a bit of h-scenes). Maybe it is just me, but really, playing for 50 hours, reading tons of things about affections/puns about sex/etc. and do not seeing any sex at all (perfect example is that Chaos;Head) is utterly boring.

H-scenes give at least some relief to the long and boring story (like Ever17 which was truly repetitve as hell and h-scenes along that 30-hours repetitive marathon would help. But no luck) and indeed, how much stories are really that great? Not much, I would say, and at least 40 or even more % of their charm they get from graphic side. So by removing h-scenes you just make less appeal, as part of charm disappears.

And I do not like myself that latest tendency having very long scenes with lot of "sluuuurps".and stuff. I like the old type of h-scenes, where there is 1-2 images and dunno, 10-15 phrases, not that usual detailed description about who, where and how much times did :) So scenes like in Yu-No, Divi-Dead and other oldies - most preferable.

Lets say it this way, i prefer VNs with H-scenes but if the game is good enough i dont mind playing it without it (except for romance/moege).

Would i buy a cutted translated version of moege/romance VN? Hell no! (im looking at you sekai projekt)

Well, I'm female and I prefer H scenes on my VN. I like putting myself on the heroine's shoes too especially if it's a non-vanilla setting (like bondage, threesome, etc). Sometimes I tell my bf if we could do some of the unorthodox sex plays that's done in VNs and he's like, "You're crazy, girl!"

I value foreplay before the H scenes a lot though. If it's a quickie, I get really turned off by that. It's better when the male protag has a lot of stamina and is not a premature ejaculator. I love it when there's passionate kissing, fingering, and cun*****gus before the guy puts it in. It shows how experienced the guy is even if it's in a forced/NTR setting. The heroine getting off during foreplay is also a plus.

I can't say that reading VNs with a male protagonist creep me out, but I also don't tend to insert myself into the role of the main character, so it's more like reading a romance novel, almost. Same goes for yuri.

I don't necessarily mind H scenes, but it really depends on how they're used. I feel like many VNs (*cough*Grisaia*cough*) could greatly benefit from either cutting back on or completely removing the H content, but at the same time, I won't hold it against something like Katawa Shoujo, Swan Song, or Saya, because it's integral to the story and I feel like it would be a worse experience without them.
