Clannad visual novel info

Hi im new to the whole visual novel scene and I am planning to buy the Clannad visual novel (physical version from Japan) with that said I have a few questions before I decide to buy. First were can I get the English patch for the game? Second which versions of the game has the voice acting? Third will it work on my computer since its from Japan?

Be aware that an officially translated version of Clannad is coming to Steam sometime in November. The fan translation patch has some rough spots, and especially the After Story, which is considered the main reason to read the game, is poorly translated. So while you can go the route of buying the game from Japan and installing the fan patch, there may be a better option available soon.

Unfortunately I'm not well versed enough in importing to tell you what the best option for buying the game is.

Thanks for the replay! Just to clarify is the link the full game with voice acting or just the voice acting? Will the steam version version be the only way to get a good English translation because as a collector Id like to have physical copies. Also are you getting Shiny Days because I am and I read it had issues.

That link I provided was the translation patch for the version of the game with voice acting.

 

As for physical versions, I'm not actually sure. They was an option for buying physical versions when the kickstarter campaign was live (the translation was funded through Kickstarter). I am not aware if they have plans to sell them separately. Maybe you could ask them via twitter or email ([email protected]).
