Sharin no Kuni start menu problems

So the the game starts up just fine, i've poured over fourms the past few hours trying to figure this out! but it doesn't look like anyone has this same problem. Every time i start the game it loads up alright but when the start menu should be there its just the background with no menu, does anyone know how to fix this please? ive attached a screenshot but i'm not sure if i did it right.

it is telling you that some error occurred, on that file tittle.ks 

I don't know if has anything to do with it but did you check that the files are not on read only?

Yes Deep blue i checked all of the files individually and they are not readonly =)

did you try with another "version" of the game? maybe some files are corrupted in the version that you have, I've never seen any problem related to that in this particular novel.

i tried redownloading it but from the same source.. hmmm you mave have something here, ill report back when i try another one!

Fredful, are you sure you are in japanese locale or using AppLocale in japanese? Try to switch to japanese if not.

I'm sure is in japanese already it wouldnt even load if it wasnt set correctly, and it's telling him the error in japanese too otherwise some weird characters would appear if not.

Nope, weird characters would not appear, as all scripts messages in localized patch is UTF8, so error would be visible normally in any locale.

Anyway, error says something about images - is all needed dll present in the folder? Topicstarter, you can put a screenshot showing list of files in Sharin directory?

inside the folder of the game you only have the .xp3 files, the .ks files are packed inside the xp3

DLL, dear. DLL. No one speak about .ks.

Anyway, I think this issue could be resolved, as it is kirikiri, after all. 

Topicstarter, if anything of above would not help - post file krkr.console.log (or somehow like that) from savedata directory.

Hey everyone just posting an update on this, i was able to fix it! I believe that a file was corrupted somehow from the source i got it from. another less seeded torrent downloaded and now the game works! well except now there is no sound, which i am now looking for the solution for now. Thank you all for helping me out with this!
