I was a little bit underwhelmed with some of the stuff in Afterbirth, namely the transformations that were all the hype in the annoucements.
Most of them give you a tiny benefit and are really just for aesthetics. Guppy is still, imho, the most useful transformation in the game.

When they said there would be a Mom transformation I thought it would be the feakiest thing ever, but turns out it's just

A trailing mom's knife behind you

Don't get me wrong, it's super cool you can get all these passive abilities from just picking up certain items, but I do feel as though they're not that impressive once you take a step back.

In terms of items, not gonna lie, lots of awesome stuff was added in like they promised they would, so this is to me what spices up the game the most.

As for new bosses, I like them but I also dislike them.
From the ones I've seen, the general idea I got is that they're just really tanky and take time to kill.
Raising difficulty is totally cool, but some bosses are just unproportionally tanky for the sake of taking a lot of time to kill, increasing your chance of dying in the process.

The hush for example is just a really lengthy bullet hell simulator

I don't want to rant too much about Afterbirth.
Despite some of my initial complaints, I do still wholeheartedly welcome a new (and very much needed) Isaac DLC which brings in tons of new content, I just think some of the new content isn't really that revolutionary.

There's a visual bug with the post it notes that seemingly erases your progress, but it's just visual, your progress is still saved.

They say you can fix it by deleting and re-importing your data.

Hopefully the devs permanently fix it later on.

While the game didn't introduce too mucj revolutionary stuff, I'm also keeping in mind that the devs learned a lesson from last time when people just foumd every secret super easily.

My belief is thst they've put a lot of really well hidden secrets in afterbirth so we may still be far from discovering everything this DLC has to offer.

I actually think this is a good thing because they were really salty when people just discovered the Lost last time without working for it.

The Keeper really does seem like a nice addition in comparison to The Lost who's just am unbearably annoying character to play as (face it, unless you get holy mantel or 9 lives it's almost impossible to win as The Lost)
