Dies Irae anime

Getting a manga as well, and seeing as how I haven't had the time to learn Moonrunes, this'll be as close as I'll get. For those who've read the VN, what're your expectations for this adaption?

On the other hand I wonder who is actually going to animate it.  I see no mention in that article.  As the raised price was only $800k USD, I would laugh if DEEN got their mits on it simply because of the low budget.

Hey man, I just take a look at reality. "Dies Irae TL when?" has been a meme for a while.

If it does manage to somehow be translated (I'm still sticking by "never"), it will probably just be hated by a lot of the community anyway.

Just like all the other bad TLs. Ignorance is bliss.  Look at all the people who like Sakura series  

I would have more hope for the manga series, at least the artist is semi-competent, so we won't end up with atrocious visuals.  It will also be more reliably translated. The down side is if it doesn't get a full adaptation.

By far the hardest VN I've ever tried to read in Japanese. I only managed to complete one route, then I stopped, but had always thought of getting back to it. Probably the best fighting scenes I can remember in a visual novel, Shirou is one of the badass-est secondary characters ever. 

Would I be interested in an anime adaptation? No, because anime adaptations of visual novels suck.

I'd say only a LN would capture the essence of the writing, which I hear is really important to enjoy this game, but a manga is likely the 2nd best choice for adapting it. Either way though, I don't think either will be successful here lol.

Regarding translations, I remember one member on this forum having to ask a friend with a PhD in Japanese for help in order to translate one specific line in the dialogue, and it's because the game is riddled with this sort of writing that I doubt anybody will even dare to translate it.

Well summer of 2017 is still a very long time away so I may try reading the visual novel before then.

But when it does come out, if the animations are as good as something like Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade works, then I might end up watching it just to see the epic fight scenes.
