Just finished my first VN. Need more pls.

So as I'm new to this site, just joining yesterday before the forums crashed and my account deleted, (no biggie) I am really new to VN's in general. But would love if anyone could provide recommendations. I typically prefer Rom-Coms or generally just romance. Something that will make me tear up for either getting a bad end or getting the best, lovey-dovey ending in the entire universe. Or you know, whatever you guys got in store. 

 

P.S. I started with OreImo for PSP if that matters.

With light-hearted romance in mind, check out the Majikoi series.
I'll also second Katawa Shoujo and Hoshimemo.

 

Noble*Works just recently got translated, though I cannot vouch for its quality as I'm still working my way through the common route. It's a light, easy read though.

i can second Katawa Shoujo, Clannad (even if you've seen the anime, the VN is different and adds so much more depth) and  Majikoi. I recommend Grisaia as well. Katawa and Clannad are probably the bigger tear jerkers, while majikoi and Grisaia are filled with a lot more comedy.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I will definitely be checking out Clannad, Katawa Shoujo, and I'm downloading the patch for Toradora right now. Hopefully these will keep me occupied for a while. Again thank you all and I hope to be around on the forums more as time goes on.

ill recommend it as well, Majikoi. just be prepared for a looooooooooooooooooooooong but entertaining visual novel. Theres also "If My Heart Had Wings." again, looooooooooooooooooooong but its one of my favorites. last one, Princess Evangile.

Free games are always easier to acces, for that i recommend you Katawa Shoujo, or Everlasting summer.

If u don t mind paying something go try Clannad,  it s literary a crying game.

Yea, just realized how expensive some of these can be. I'm going to save up, especially for Clannad.

Agreed with mitch's recommendation of If My Heart Had Wings - it's a straightforward rom-com and drama, and makes a great VN for someone getting into the territory. It's on Steam, and on the cheaper side (relative to Clannad, especially). The only downside is that the translation is... well... really bad, a lot of the time, much worse than other professionally-translated works. But if you can deal with that, it's a great VN. There is a fan retranslation project in progress for it, but I wouldn't count on it being done until maybe around the end of this year.

You probably can't go wrong with Clannad, though - it's a classic for a reason. The "After Story" section of the game is marvelous.

If you're into Sci-fi; parallel dimensions and time travel, you should try out YU-NO, the 2011 english translated version of the 1996 classic.

Those are nice light-hearted rom-com visual novel, and the romance is generally story-driven with friendship in mind. Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate has more drama and comedy, but If My Heart Had Wings is more about moe and passion of youth.
