Also Tomoyo After and Little Busters are getting official releases. It's probably just badly worded, they knew that Key was interested in the west. A JAST guy responded to me on twitter saying that they thought Key was SP's territory but even that's not really true these days. SP released Planetarian and Clannad, and now Key seems to have moved on. They're doing Harmonia themselves, and two different outside companies are working on Tomoyo After and Little Busters, so they'll probably just go with the best offer.

Err, I think you're misinterpreting that. They're not speaking generally, but with the context if JAST. So, if Key ever wanted to localize any of their games with JAST, they'd love to do Angel Beats. Which is just their way of saying it's outside their domain.

Yeah, Jast's PR guy should have expanded upon what he meant. I can see why it could be interpreted either way.

There is that possibility, yes. But the phrasing is... interesting nonetheless. I'd say there's a good chance that whoever does this PR work for JAST hadn't been aware of Key's recent foray before Decay pointed it out in a tweet. No point in speculating, but once again, the phrasing is suspicious.

I remember that back in the day JAST tried to do business with Key but they didn't want to and some Key staff even said that their games are not for Western people, are too precious to localize anyway and Gaijins should stop importing and playing them.
Then, after some financial struggle, Key immediately whored out their games. Exactly the same games no Gaijin was worthy to read, as stated just a few years ago.

The Japanese just hate Peter. I don't even know why. Probably because he's a weeaboo and does not westernize the games enough like Dovac does (which means cutting the porn).

Eh, if I remember correctly, the staff comment was on twitter. Somebody wanted to thank Key for making great games and Key answered with something along the lines of "Yeah, thanks, but please stop playing our games". Impossible to find nowadays I guess. It was before I used Twitter myself... It was probably... I don't know... six years ago?

I think there should be some sources somewhere about Peter saying that he tried to talk with Key. His comment in the opening post of this thread kinda sounds to me that he's still pretty pissed about how he was treated by Key.
