jamesmercer546 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Hello, I was wondering if this is where I could request English translations for a few visual novels? Quote
Arcadeotic Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I think you should look at the Fan Translation Skills Registration and PM the translator of your choice Quote
jamesmercer546 Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 I see, thank you. although it appears most translators are currently unavailable at this time, would you happen to know any that are? Quote

Dergonu Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Just a heads up, translators will very rarely just pick up a translation project because someone asked them too. A fan translation takes a long time and a great deal of effort, and it's something people usually do because they honestly want the game translated for others to enjoy. It is rarely something they do just because a person told them to. They are much more likely to pick up something that motivates them on a personal level. Yeah pretty much It's not like a drawing where you can commission one for like 20 bucks and have it in a few days Quote
VirginSmasher Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 This thread is pretty pointless. Fan translators won't translate a visual novel that somebody else wants them to and will want to translate something they themselves would like to. Translating something the translator doesn't like will end up in slower progress and probably a weaker translation. Arcadeotic, LoganW, ヤミハナ and 1 other 4 Quote

That thread is so people can find people with the right skill set for their projects, not so the posters can be harassed with inane bullshit. I can't even believe that you suggested this. Or people could learn not to harass translators. They'll translate what they want to and they don't care about what other people want translated. Translating companies care about that kind of thing, at least they should care about it. Fan translators translate what they feel passionate about. Quote
Soulless Watcher Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Ah this brings back memories of when I was a new to the vn scene and thought that translators took request and a regular basis. It is a naive misconception that you will feel embarrassed about years latter, if you continue to be a vn fan. Quote
