How do YOU spend your time playing a hyped up VN?

So we have all had that one game that we waited months for. You sit there, staring at the screen, waiting for the game to release, and as soon as the download finish, you pass out form sheer bliss. 

(Something along those lines, right?  )

 

Personally I have kind of a ritual when it comes to new releases that I´ve been super hyped for for a long time. I buy a couple of cans of redbull, log off the internet and just immerse myself completely in the game. The first playing session is usually at least 4 hours, some a lot longer, and I make sure that I have the time to do so, usually saving it for the weekend. (Or I simply say, fuck you school, and stay home  ) 

If anyone disturbs me during this time, I maul them like a baby wolverine. 

 

My question, do you have a ritual of sorts / a pattern that you always go through when you finally get to play a game you have been hyped for for a long time? What is it? And what was the most recent game you were super hyped for? 

For me, the game I´ve been uber hyped for most recently was Beat blades haruka, and I spent this entire weekend no-lifing the crap out of it  

Before that, it was Nekopara vol.2. I wanted those damn nekos for so long

Exactly what happened with Gahkthun

I was so salty when the download link didn't download and only sent corrupted files for a week

But it was great to marathon that title in one weekend

When I couldn´t download beat blades haruka because of Mangagamer´s broken payment gateway I was running around town beating people!

Also, I was prepared to break some bones until it finally downloaded it.

Also helped that I didn't actually pay for it, but instead won it from a VN peotry contest at /r/visualnovels

I lock the door, put my headphones on and simply start to read, while saying to myself "it's probably shit" repeatedly. That way, I prevent myself both from being disappointed and from mom catching me fap. 

 

After that, I read for as long as I can. No magic tricks involved here.

Usually once i get a Vn i've been way too hyped for finally in my hands. just like you senpai i'll end up no lifing the fuck out of it...i enjoy getting engrosed on something ive been waiting and hyped for  

I'll probably keep something to drink close and obviously my handy headphones for reasons

It's not just that, somehow i managed to be underpowered against the last boss so i end up running out of days while trying to catch up, im guessing ill have to start all over but uggggh

RIP. Just use onee-sama´s 100% save for all the CGs, then just go back, make a new game and CTRL through all the pointless dialouge and focus on powering up your main heroine.

hahaha, this is me. I tell myself I need to give it the time it deserves, and months later I still haven't touched it. Witcher 3 still hasn't been played, and I bought the CE on release day.

I forgot about the dang thing until there's only one month left, then i sleep a lot so the wait can be bearable

Then when it come out i usually finish it in one go unless it's a super long one, then despair cause i finish it too fast

Speaking of hyped, I'm currently in hype for the Inre's next Vn that will be released in 2017

Damn, how do you manage to stop yourself from just binge reading the game

I just get hooked and cant stop. When it comes to a not so good read, I cant get myself to read more than 20 minutes before I just have to do something else  

For those games, my mind goes like, "But wouldn´t you rather watch some anime? Ohhh, but you really want to read this VN instead! Come on, do this instead! COME ON!" Then I look at my progress and I got like 8 lines into the story form 20 minutes of "reading"
