So, I've just decided to give VNR a try after a year of using Translation Aggregator + ITH.

So far, it's been...very intuitive, to my surprise! My thanks go to the hardworker developers and volunteer translators.

However, I've noticed a weird bug, that I couldn't find any mention of through a forum search (so I decided to register, hopefully this isn't annoying): when using ATLAS translation (my basic starting point, though I do plan to add others)--my VNR installation ignores all Japanese text that's either in square brackets OR parentheses/parenthesis? I can tell because if a character's name is outside the brackets, it DOES get translated (as is any text not in brackets, like introspective thought).

It does show up in the Japanese text display (and, of course, in game). It seems like there's some option somewhere that is toggled on by default, or I turned on by mistake. My VNR is updated.

Can anyone help me out?

though i don't know if it will help but u could select the line in bracket (except the brackets itself) from the IHT and u can see the line being translated in the translation aggregator....it always helps me..:-)

If you want the best of both worlds, use VNR to hook and Translation Aggregator to display the ATLAS results.

That's definitely an option, and I do appreciate the suggestion, but the appeal of VNR for me is mostly to have an integrated option--I would probably just go back to AGTH and hook things anyway (except for things with a community translation).

It seems like it ought to be fixable though--the program sees the whole line, it just choosing to ignore anything in brackets or parentheses. It's not supposed to do that, right?
