Deiske Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I have my format, and local set to Japanese and I'm using windows 8. When I try to run the game, I get this error. Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 It says it can't open that file. Judging by the fact there's tons of ??? on the file name, you probably didn't change your non unicode settings to Japanese. Quote

If it's not this then check if the files aren't set to read only, that can be the cause too Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 One weird thing about that file is all the kanji. It looks more like a Chinese application than a Japanese game. The only other file in there is data.xp3? That's VERY weird for any VN. Are you sure you got the right thing? Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I think what you might have there is a Chinese translation patch, not a VN. Fiddle 1 Quote
iamnoob Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Is nobody going to point out games/fap ? Gaporigo and Dergonu 2 Quote
Deiske Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 I got a lot of subfolders for my vn's lol. Anyway, when I changed my locale to chinese this is what comes up now. Quote
pual Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Something gave me this kind of error few years ago, maybe Sharin no Kuni. It was locale problem and there was save file which also needed to be deleted before it worked. Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 This kind of error happens in Sharin no Kuni when your files are set to read-only mode. Try checking if that's the case with this game by checking the properties of all the files (select everything > right click > properties > uncheck read-only) Quote
Deiske Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 Yeah, it fixed it, but now it shows this. Quote
Nosebleed Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Yeah that error is in Chinese, unfortunately I have no clue what it says. Quote
