My VN wont start and give me an error

I have my format, and local set to Japanese and I'm using windows 8. When I try to run the game, I get this error.

It says it can't open that file.

Judging by the fact there's tons of ??? on the file name, you probably didn't change your non unicode settings to Japanese.

If it's not this then check if the files aren't set to read only, that can be the cause too

One weird thing about that file is all the kanji. It looks more like a Chinese application than a Japanese game. The only other file in there is data.xp3? That's VERY weird for any VN.

I think what you might have there is a Chinese translation patch, not a VN.

I got a lot of subfolders for my vn's lol. 

Anyway, when I changed my locale to chinese this is what comes up now.

Something gave me this kind of error few years ago, maybe Sharin no Kuni. It was locale problem and there was save file which also needed to be deleted before it worked.

This kind of error happens in Sharin no Kuni when your files are set to read-only mode.

Try checking if that's the case with this game by checking the properties of all the files (select everything > right click > properties > uncheck read-only)

Yeah, it fixed it, but now it shows this.

Yeah that error is in Chinese, unfortunately I have no clue what it says.
