ASMR - Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.

Described as a "pleasurous, tingly feeling that trickles from your head and down your spine". It can be triggered by certain "sounds"

I didn't even know this was a thing until I got another haircut recently and finally was like, alright, time to Google why I get this damned tingly feeling that makes me unable to sit still as a statue while that buzzer is rekking my ears

Who else experiences this phenomenon??

e: put on your headphones and see if you get rekt by this 3D grill whispering in your ear (ty palas for link)

This keeps popping up on the internet, never understood what the hype was about. o.O

As in you don't actually get the tingle sensation, or you do but it's whatevers?

I've heard of this before, but I don't get the tingly feeling. Also I find those videos really disgusting for some reason lol, it's like someone chewing with their mouth open but 100x worse.

I do get a tingly feeling from listening to some songs though, and sometimes cry involuntarily from them (even though they're not sad songs). Dunno if that's maybe related?

I saw this thread and thought "Oh, no, we lost another one."

Listening to the youtube that Eclipsed linked. Like flutterz, not getting any reaction from it. I ran down some of the links from when Nosebleed talked about this last time, but didn't really spend much time with it. Probably for the best, for my sanity.

The best way I can describe the tingle feel to peeps who aren't affected by this is

You know how if someone very, very lightly brushes against your skin back and forth in attempts to tickle you and how it can cause a tingle sensation

With ASRM the audio basically triggers a similar feeling, 'cept you feel it across your entire bods, and so haircut buzzers are death

a severe enough trigger will give me GOoSeBuMPS, wonder if they're related.

It's important to note ASMR isn't a universal thing. Nonetheless, i also find most clips on YouTube creepy as fuck, that's why I only listen to superior weeb ASMR.

I recommend people try different kinds of sounds, it's usually just a matter of taste. I myself really enjoy ear licking sounds for some ungodly reason.

Well, to be clear, I do get ASMR, and pretty easily. A handful of visual novels, anime, and especially movies (mostly non-weeb ones) have triggered it, and I can actually trigger it on demand from reflecting hard enough on certain parts of those that I deeply enjoyed; apparently that's a documented but rare thing. Sasuga me.

However, I don't get that reaction from any of these audio recordings.

I'm actually surprised to hear that apparently other people don't know about the general concept - I get it somewhat frequently, so I guess I thought other people did too, but, you know... from good stories, not from audio recordings of people making ear licking sounds - which I have no problem with by the way, I just find it surprising given my own experience.

Indeed erotic audio is great, I wrote a whole post about it and how to find the stuff that's right for you, if you're interested:

Can confirm, once you get into this, there is no turning back.

(My phone is literally full of this stuff. Started deleting pictures and apps just to have room for more of it.)

Thanks Nosebleed :miyako:
