Dreamysyu Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Before I start in a few days. Is there a good order to read routes? Is it better to read the main route first, or leave it last? And does it really matter? Sorry if a discussion like this already exists, but I couldn't find it. Quote
Dergonu Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 The game doesn't have routes like in Kajitsu. The actual main route is separate from the after routes. You can read it in any order you want. The after routes continues the story from the routes in Kajitsu, and the main route is a new "what if" route that doesn't use any main heroine. EDIT: Ah, also keep in mind that the current steam version is a censored version with all H-content removed, (which might sound like nothing, but the game has a lot of it,) so I'd wait for the full Denpasoft release if you want to play it in its original state. Decay Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 The after stories make casual references to the events that get revealed in the grand route. None of them are spoilers, so you don't have to worry about that. It's pretty unimportant overall. Quote

I don't want to eat the best part of the cake right away. Yeah, I've already heard about it. When I was writing with post, I thought that several H-scenes are not really worth waiting for. But today I thought about it, and, remembering how much Amane's route in Kajitsu was butchered by censoring... Yeah, I probably should be a bit more patient. Quote

On top of the H-scenes in the main story, the censored game also removes 6 non canon H-scenes that work kind of like a fandisk, and a large amount of small scenarios as well that contains mature language / content. The entire game gets censored quite heavily in the steam release. Because it is a port of the PS vita remake, it does have some new filler CGs, but most of these scenes are shorter than the original H-scenes, and offer very little new stuff. It's basically a toned down form of fanservice. I would recommend waiting. Dreamysyu 1 Quote

So yeah, it won't hurt to wait for several months. I can always come back to Steam version if I get tired of waiting. By the way, are there any news when 18+ version is going to come out? Quote
Decay Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 23 hours ago, Dergonu said: and a large amount of small scenarios as well that contains mature language / content. This is false. I don't know exactly what was removed, but there was not a large amount of side stories removed. If there were any that weren't primarily h-scenes removed, it must have been a very small number of them. I'm not sure there were any of these at all. 23 hours ago, Dergonu said: The entire game gets censored quite heavily in the steam release. The censorship was surprisingly light, seriously. Lucius Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I actually would like a trial period free copy of the VN to see if all the rumors were true. Considering the nature of Grisaia, I wouldn't be surprised at all a 'legit' company like Steam would butcher and censor their way through the content, particularly this early into the Japanese VN market when they might still be sensitive about the controversial sexual nature of many VNs. Not saying it's justified, but it would be totally understandable and reasonable for a company to be overly cautious for profit reasons, especially in our current 'progressive' age refraining from sexism and the likes. Thing is, either camp could make up rumors about what is censored and what is not censored, but the word of mouth isn't really enough for me to pay good hard-earned cash for a copy of the game I might regret buying, even if the regret is small. If it's a cheap $10 game, I might change my mind (though the US dollar conversion would still cost quite a bit in my currency, making it like $12-$13 as opposed to $10). And if we're being honest here, although I have been waiting quite a bit for the Grisaia sequel, time has kinda dissipated my initial enthusiasm since then, when I've moved on to other pastures. I'm not particularly fond of Grisaia enough at the moment to say "Shut up and take my money!", so I could always wait another 2-3 years. I no longer have a 'best gurl' in my heart anyway, so it's no loss. Quote

I have played the original game in Japanese, and then the new English censored version. The amount of censorship is quite high. Take it from someone who has played both. Dergonu Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 12 hours ago, Nekolover said: This is the Steam version correct? Yes, the "censored" version we mentioned is the current version on steam. Just to clearify, the censorship is not done by Sekai Project, but by the original creators, as the version SP is translating is an all ages remake of the original game. (The vita port.) The version that will be released on Denpasoft later on will be the original, without the censored/ altered* content. Story wise you lose little in the steam version, but content wise as a whole there is a significant amount of content removed, so I would recommend waiting unless you absolutely must know what happens in the main story. (* The altered content is refering to H-scenes which has been replaced with new CGs and remakes of the H-scene. An example is: Spoiler Yumiko's H-scene where she dresses up as a bunny and pleases Yuuji in ... many ways. In the remake, they do not show the sex directly, but instead just tip toe around it in a shorter, more cute version of an erotic scene. This means that the "new" content in this port is essentially just altered versions of the already existing content in the unrated version, which in turn means this "new" content offers no actual value in any way. Of course, playing both versions will give you everything I suppose, so if you have the cash for that, go nuts. 1 hour ago, Forgetful Frank said: Denpasoft release it is for me then~!
