Devils Devel Concept eng peatch 20%

I don't know how many people heard of VN Devils Devel Concept, to me it looks incredibly interesting vn. It was translated by group sanityends but unfortunately it was dropped 2 years ago. But I manage to find link to download the Eng patch that is 20% done and I decided to post it here so that if anybody decide to continue project can use it (Or if anybody wants to play at least those 20% like trial versions).

This game is one of my favorites, for the sheer abnormality of the characters. The characters have a different perspective on life that is oddly mixed with a normal perspective, making it all the more fascinating to read.

I haven't played it yet as I am still hoping that someone will translate the whole game. But it definitely gives an impression like it could easily become one of my favorites VNs.

It was one of the ones I considered starting a project for, but I crossed it out for a number of reasons.

1) Difficulty level: This game's linguistic difficulty is amongst the highest of any game I've ever played that doesn't use archaic Japanese.

2) Narrow Appeal: This game is niche within a niche. It appeals to a very small crowd of people that like psychotic, murderous characters who think of that as being normal and a world that doesn't reject that way of thinking. This game shows off Akatsuki Works' Nietzschian philosophy and general cynicism far more blatantly than their other games.

There are others but those are the big ones from a translator's point of view. Highly difficult and has narrow appeal (not to mention that the game itself is very long) and thus it is a bit too much of a hurdle for most translators.

I don't know about your first reason but the second one is not really valid as far as I know a big number of people love psychotic, murderous story's characters it is why animes like Mirai Nikki and Higurashi are so hugely popular and when it comes to VNs well I guess that Corpse Party is also pretty popular. Anyway I know that right now you are translating Ikusa Megami Zero and it is one more VN that I look forward to play so thanks for your hard work. I hope that you chance your opinion about translating Devils Devel Concept too when you get the time, and if you don't I am still grateful for the once that you do translate.

I have heard of that game but never actually played it since only just recently i started to read untranslated vn's, however it does look good and interesting and hope a full patch could be done for it.

Technically it is possible, and in reality - no one ever tried after Sanity Ends got a C&D letter from Akatsuki Works.

I've played all but Mei's route (still need to find time to finish it) and I can say this is a very good game...but I pity anyone who takes this on to translate. While the slice of life scenes are generally simple enough reads, anything having to do with this game's lore is where it gets complicated and DDC is heavy on lore, so much so I'm amazed there hasn't been a sequel or another game set in its universe. There's also the fact that there are times when the POVs switch to other characters and I'm not sure how you'd properly translate that considering that POV has a noticeably different narration than Sora's and there's a bit of a "guess who" element there as you consider who it might be until that character has a spoken line or sometimes it's not until later on in a different scene that you find out who it is.
