"Re: Sharin no Kuni Project" Kickstarter preview page is up

They just passed the halfway point, $40k, four and a half hours in. With such a strong start it's already basically cemented that they'll reach their goal, it's now just a matter of which stretch goals they'll reach. It took about nine days to reach the $40k mark last time, for a point of comparison.

Holy crap. I almost didn't make it in time for the 40$ early bird tier, even though it launched just a few hours ago... people are really jumping on this. (Which is so great to see.)

These guys seem to have learned from their mistakes, unlike whoever "localized" ChiSingura ... Launching a prefundia, launching the Kickstarter a second time with barely any changes and not really doing anything from the Prefundia, then blaming it on "someone else from the company started the Kickstarter again".

See what a difference figuring out what your customers want makes? :)

I'm curious about the standalone 18+ version. Apperantly we will be able to switch our steam key for that version through backerkit. Wonder where they will sell it, and whether there is any catch to it. (They seemed to hint to that being a possibility on twitter.)

Either way though, I'm glad they are making it a thing. I am not a fan of using steam unless I have to, and always prefer DL versions.

No catch, there was a slight possibility we might have had to restrict it somehow but we we able to confirm that there's no caveats for the standalone 18+. It'll be a simple matter of choosing which you want on BackerKit and then receiving your key(s).

That's great.

Restrictions for what is supposed to be an unrated version does sound a bit unappealing. (On that note, this is actually one of the reasons why I don't particularly like patches + steam, as it usually comes with some annoying restrictions and such, like not being able to take screenshots in game of the 18+ scenes etc. Rather small stuff, but it really irks me. :P

I realize this might not be something you have the answer to at the moment, but in case you do, do you know whether or not this version will be released at the same time as the steam version? Or will additional work make this particular version take longer?

It may take a little longer yes, I don't know anything more specific than that at this point, but I doubt it would be more than a couple weeks, maybe a month at absolute worst.

At this point I'll nump in when and if the vita port will be confirmed.

Are you going for a physical version? If so, you should hop on now to help the Kickstarter reach the PS Vita stretch goal and you'll be able to choose which version you want in Backerkit.

If you want to get BOTH Physical PC Version and PS Vita, you can do it by choosing "PC" in Backerkit and adding the PS Vita physical version as an Add-Ons in Backerkit.

At worst in the unfortunate event that by the end of the 30 days it does not look like the PS Vita stretch goal will be reached, you would still be able to either cancel your pledge or lower it to 1 USD.

Remember unlike with IndieGogo you will not be charged before the Kickstarter campaigns ends and it reached it's goal.

The campaign has just reached 60k, that's halfway to the PS Vita 120k stretch goal with 27 days left to go!

No one will be surprised to hear, but the re-launched campaign just hit 100% funded on their $80k goal. We'll see if they make the stretch goals now, I suppose, but I don't think I'm especially interested in any of them, so it's all the same to me. I'm rather looking forward to this one, since I never played the old release (and certainly have no intention to do so now). On the one hand, August 2017 is a long way off still, but it's not a ton of time on the scale of VN localization; sounds like a tough but achievable goal.

I care about more content (the fandisc stuff), but not if it's not supposed to be particularly good.  As for the Vita version ... well, I own a Vita, but I don't really need another copy of the game for it.

I might change my mind if it turns out that I really like it when I do play it, in which case I might want it on my Vita to re-read (say) on the train sometime.  But I haven't played it yet.  This is why Steins;Gate is the only VN I own for the Vita (technically, my Root Double pledge comes with one, but I don't even know if that reward came out yet) - and that's because I played it when Jast released it, so when I heard the Vita version was coming out I was like "sold!" (mostly to encourage them to release more, but also so I could play it again).

The reason to get a Vita physical version is because after the years the PC physical version may not be compatible or may have compatibility issues with newer computer builds, while on Vita it will always work as intended.

Eri's backstory shouldn't be that bad.

Up.

The kickstarter reached Vita Stretch goal and it's moving fast towards FD stretch goal.

If the Fandisc actually reaches its goal then I'll definitely back this project.

It's going to reach it very soon, they are 2.5k away now.
