Cou - Black Dragon Crash Issue

Not too sure if anyone else has tried to setup this game (as it seems fairly obscure)

I am quite keen to give it a go, but the game crashes, seemingly at random (I have seen it crash anywhere between 10 seconds of game running to 5 minutes)

My PC is Windows 10 and I have Locale set to Japanese (Even tried fiddling a bit with settings and Windows 7 compat mode, to no avail)

 

Does anyone happen to know how I can get this to stop crashing!?

Plus while I am at it, is the game worth the time I am wasting trying to get it working =/

Just dropping in to say that, yes, many people have played Comyu; it's pretty popular. I can even confirm I've played it on Win10 successfully, though that required using version.dll from the Win8WOH workaround to fix an issue that prevents the game from starting entirely on Win8 and higher. That doesn't sound like it's the problem you have, though, since that error should prevent it from starting up entirely, not cause random crashes. Do you have any more information on the crash, like an error message?

Nah, thats what has me beat, if I had an error I would atleast have something to go on, but nope nothing, its like the game window just dissapears, no message or anything.

Played a bit (5 or 6 hours) myself on my old crappy chinese tablet with W10 32bit, no issue whatsoever.

I am aware this issue is fairly rare, otherwise I would probably have found a solution through searching by now.

But sadly as it stands it looks like I will have to skip this game due to this, I even copied it over to try on my Desktop but, same issue

Are you sure it is not an installation issue?

I have reinstalled like 5 times so, I have to conclude that it is not. Can anyone confirm if it works for them on most recent update Windows 10 64 bit?

Bad ISO/dvd print with corrupted files?

It' very strange you have the same issue in two different PCs

I have even tried multiple ISO sources -.-

Note: what I am doing is opening the game > pressing start > skipping a few messages in > leaving it until crash (allow 10 mins, altho longest it has lasted for me is I think 3 mins before crash)

I had to disable windows defender to install it properly, it detects the game as harmful software.

Other than that it seems to run fine, for now.

Still not crashed after 13 mins.

edit: You should try to disconnect from the internet, disable any antivirus/firewall you have and reinstall the game

Ok, thanks for testing, I will fiddle a bit with AV and give it a shot, maybe Webroot is messing with it.

Edit: Well I have tried all I can think of, I think I am just gonna rage quit on this one -.-.

Heh, well I never fixed this properly, but I am running it on a Windows 7 Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) and it seems fine (altho it could look better) =/
