Steins;gate crash error

Description of Problem: Game crash immidiately after starting Steins;Gate patched.exe ==> http://i.imgur.com/Ap4NvVS.jpg

Your Operating System: Win 7 64 bit

What did you already try? Uninstall/Reinstall, Redownload, Run as admin... Hell, I even copied to my laptop and it crash on both machine...

Did you download your game from Fuwanovel?: Yes

You could try running sdrt4280j.exe first, that seems to have helped some people.

Other than that I notice that some of your files there have different file size than what I have here so force a recheck on the torrent to make sure none are corrupt.

Finally, if you have codec packs installed (K-Lite or older versions of CCCP) those may cause the game to crash (it would crash when it gets to the main menu).

Thanks, forcing a recheck did solve the problem. But for the next day the error start acting up again then I'll have to repeat the same thing. Wonder if something in the game kept alternating my files and causes the corruption...

Hard to say what could cause something like that.

Do you have any antivirus software or such running, if so try excluding the steins;gate folder from those.

It might be faulty hard drive but if this only happening with steins;gate it seems unlikely.

You could try checkdisk to see if there are any errors with the HD:

Write cmd to start menu search and press ctrl+shift+enter to start command prompt with admin rights.

Enter chkdsk /f and then Y to schedule a check during next boot.

Restart your PC and wait for the check to finish.

It sucks having to recheck the torrent everytime before playing SG. What if no one will be there seeding ;_;
