I just wanted to get peoples thoughts (or possibly get people interested) of the new manga UQ holder a action shonen which is yet another wonderful work from Akamatsu Ken the creator of both Love Hina and Negi!

10 years has passed since the world discovered magic but those who live on the country-side has yet to have it effect their lives unlike in the city

Touta seeks to head toward the capital and learn magic and to do that he must defeat his teacher/guardian if he does that then he'll be able to leave his home city

anything else would be a spoiler since there's only one chapter out plus there's a few things in there for Negi! fans that you will want to see for yourself since this is a spin-off of it which takes place about 50 years after (I believe)

It's alot more shonen then Akamatsu's other works and darker to fit the premise

I'm a Ken Akamatsu fan, but this series seems too shounen for my tastes. I would consider picking it up if it got really good reviews though.

I'm also a fan of Ken Akamatsu, so as soon as I found out about this manga I started reading it and I think it's pretty good. As you say, more shounen than his other works, but still good.

I don't really find this manga is exciting (compared to all Akamatsu-sensei's previous work), but it's still pretty good to read
I hope the story will be more interesting in the next update.

NP: I think Akamatsu-sensei most suited to make ecchi romance comedy manga, while he can implement some shounen-ish action adventure genre to the manga to make his manga exciting. lol
