What's the most awkward thing to happen to you while reading a VN?

A simple topic tonight, but hey I got to keep the quota of posting a new thread daily or the mods will never release my family... :notlikemiya:

For me, it was my friend visiting while I was reading Euphoria.... You can guess how well that went. He took it fairly well considering it's main theme is rape, luckily I was on the true route so it made justifying explaining it to him easier.

My mother barely not catchin' me playing Chichi Miko!! during one of the scenes with the milk breast ritual thing.

Also my brother entering in my room while I was playing Euphoria.

Not a VN, but a funny situation nonetheless:

Some years ago...

I have the first vol. 1 of Corpse Party: Musume (ecchi version of the series), which has a scene with explicit tit.

What does it have to do with anything?

Well the boys in my class, stole my fukkin' manga and made a fucking (Almost fappin') circle to worship the animu tit.

I was like *PLZ KILL ME*

And later, one of my friends tried to rip my manga into pieces, 'cause he didn't like the porno.

I still remember it vividly...

For me it would have to be the time I was looking through Maggot Baits CGs at school, in what I thought was an empty classroom. The students behind me didn't say anything, but I think they were scarred for life.

Damn viewing any CG's in a school is ballsy enough, so you've earned my respect by taking it one step further by viewing a more extreme one like that while there.

My dad walked in on me fapping to a h scene. He only noticed the fapping luckily and didn't notice the h scene. Hence I can continue with my degenerate hobby.

The plot twist here is that he actually noticed the scene and recognised it, walking out of the room thinking proudly "That's my boy, he's got good tastes..." :wahaha:

I was reading an H-scene that other time and you could say that I was "engrossed" in it. My older brother walked into my room and he started silently at me and the screen for a full minute or so without saying anything. Then he sat through the whole scene next to me and left when it finished without saying a word.

I still see the disappointment in his eyes each time he looks at me.

You know, whilst this thread initially brought  to mind to people running into me in the midst of an H-Scene, that is likely not the worst situation.

When I'm particularly excited reading a VN I act like an absolute madman. I often read the characters' lines aloud, shout, make up new ones, react to them, etcetera. This, unfortunately, is quite audible in my younger sister's room, so she's the person most subjected to my lunacy. My parents occasionally walk by the corridor near my room, and should they catch me in the middle of a fit they sometimes even interrupt to ask me what the bloody hell I'm doing.

In the good end you get to bang a girl that start masturbating behind you, but you know, this is real life only bad ends allowed.

My most awkward thing to happen with me while reading a VN is lack of any chances of awkward things to happen. I wish there somebody ever came to my room... even on the middle of an h-scene (preferably. In that situation I've always wanted to say "do you want to try that?" with a ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) face. Missed opportunity, guys...)

I think he would've been disappointed as I was reading Kira Kira. :marie:

Oh I do that all the time especially if a character is doing something properly stupid and I've had a few too many brews. My mom will ask me occasionally who I'm talking to.

Oh back when I was briefly living in the dorms I had two roommates on either side of me. It led to some pretty awkward moments. The good thing was that I didn't especially care?

I'm pretty skittish and secretive so I haven't really been caught in any awkward situations, yet. When I'm home I don't read VNs until /everyone/ in the house is asleep at night. I have to read in the living room so I sit at an angle where anyone in the house would have to walk in front of me if they decided to wake up and roam the house. I listen with only one earbud at like 2% volume, and to top it all off I make sure there are no reflective surfaces like windows behind me. If I could still read without my glasses on I'd do it in a hearbeat to avoid /that/ reflective surface betraying me.

The rest of the year though I live in a single dorm so I can read whenever I want. I still tend to leave VN reading for night time though so I won't be disturbed.

Wow, this thread is pure gold. :wahaha:

My story will be super tame compared to some of those above, but stil... I was reading the all-ages Sonohana spin-off, you know, one that doesn't even have much romance in it, and decided to finish it in the morning before my gf wakes up. So, obviously she woke up earlier than usual and walked into my room exactly at the beginning of the only kissing scene in the whole game.

Maybe I looked unreasonably engrossed in the romantic conclussion of the story, but the look she gave me nearly made me wish I was cought reading some actual porn. :vinty:

Hmmm...

I think I have to go through that scene again, I couldn't really focus when finishing the read that day. :]

I once played Chaos;Head on my laptop at my parents' house, while sitting next to my mum...

Bear in mind this was the first vn I read and I wasn't too aware of its content. I quite quickly noped out of there.

I'm sure my parents have their suspicions about me :notlikemiya: the figure collection also doesn't help. :leecher:

Oooh, my parents are some purists and slightly homophobic, so it could lead to aaaaaaaaaaaall kinds of embarrassing situations!

But that didn't stop me to play VNs in the only computer in the house before I had one for myself. And this story start with Comyu, of all things! Me and my sister were reading Benio's route and thought it was okay because the porn mostly happened in the love hotel, so if that background appeared, we just have to close it and pretend nothing happened. Except Rondo's h-scene starts out of nowhere!!! And my mom was sitting some five meters behind us, in a place she could definetly see the computer's screen...

She was half asleep, so she didn't noticed, but boy I don't remember what I hit first, the mouse to click elsewhere or my sister because she was with the mouse at the time and didn't clicked elsewhere fast enough. My life is now three years shorter because of the scare.

Oh my god! This thread is so good, and I don't have even nearly enough likes to like all the good posts, lol. :pyaa:

My story, on the other hand, is pretty boring: I was always pretty careful not to get caught... well, after I started reading 18+ VNs. Before that, I was actually pretty open about that. I could read Umineko at the university when I had nothing to do, for example. I simply described VNs as "reading games" to people who were interested (and, considering that I was pretty obsessed with Umineko to the point of turning into a complete fanboy, mostly to the people who weren't interested :Chocola:), and I was pretty sure nobody would care enough to actually look them up and find out about more juicy things.

But I was wrong. :vinty: I'm pretty sure one person did. I guess, you can consider it the most awkward thing that happened to me while reading VNs.
