I can totally understand that. I find RL idol culture in Japan and surrounding areas a little bit twisted myself... However i don't think you should write them all off, if you want an good example of an excellent idol route you should check out Tsukiyono Usagi in the game "Primal X Hearts 2" [https://vndb.org/v17038#main] Most well written and awesome character i have seen in a while. I really recommend the game if you want to check out the other side of the coin.
