I don't exactly mind the old animation, since I don't care about good visuals (so long as they aren't plain garbage). But it kind of goes against the visual novel on some parts, due to how exaggerated the fight sequences are. Maybe not exaggerated, but when it says that she uses a spell to run faster, or that they move at superhuman speeds, it should in the very least be reflected in the animation, which I thought it wasn't.

Nothing seems clearly disproportional, ugly or odd. So not garbage animation in my book.

It does contain a contradiction though.

This is supposed to be super high speed. And it was slowed down so we could see it. But we still cannot see the impact. Something's wrong here...

As far as animation goes, it's terrible. Animation is how a character move, and, well, they don't. They are just static images being moved around the screen.

It doesn't look bad, so I can't call it bad animation. I don't disagree about it hardly being animation though.

true i really liked the origional anime, but that was when i just started watching anime and did not read vn's, but i must also say.....

and the vn crushed the story three times over

they tried to mix the tree different routes, and failed horribly because it caused contradictions in the story among other things.

That and shiro develops completely different as a character in each of the routes.

And mixing three different books generally does not work.

They should have just fuffiled the non existant harem route or ilya route in the anime tough if you ask me. (most problems would have been gone then)

It's usually the reason why most anime adaptations of visual novels fail horribly. Oh well. At least we get to see the girls voiced and actually moving.

Now i am not worried about the new fate stay night because it is already comfirmed it will adapt only the unlimited blade works route.

(still kinda hoped for fate route as saber is my favorite character together with rider but ow well)

 

I just hope grisia will do well and not try to mix and match routes, and i think it has got a good chance as the origional is set up for a harem ending so if they got a functioning brain they go for that one.

As for kara no kyoukai, one of the best adaptions ever made and if you have not yet watched it.

There was, but it was even worse than the Fate/Stay Night anime. It's the general consensus of the fanbase that the adaption does not exist and never did.
