Thanks for the welcome back, Nahi. I like the new avatar :)

Best thing I've ever read on 4chan was Anon works IT. Part 1 and Part 2.

So downloading Adobe Reader and restarting my PC fixes everything?

Well shit, that means I could have been working IT this entire time.

They blocked a hell lot of webs, including VN's company websites like Key, LoS, Saga Planet, ALcot, blah blah... And even Steam Store (wut?)

Surprisingly, they missed Clochette and Glace/Galette.

Correction: Actually this filter is the new one. The old one blocked out eroge and porn webs + torrent webs only, while this new filter totally allows access to those webs, but in exchange block out Steam Store and some websites with "banned words". Weird.

Oh well, screw Steam then.

One of my friends who goes to the same Uni as me said torrents download super fast there, so he brings a USB to the labs and goes to town. It's strange to me as the computers and internet there are both glacial at times, but I guess they have very fast download speeds. I always forget to bring a USB and try it out, now my workload has died down a bit I mighht try it Tuesday.

Australia's internet is shit in general, but I don't think New Zealand's is supposed to be that much better. I guess you're better than 97% of the country. I think my friend has super good internet he pays a lot for, but even that would only be "good by Australian standards". Give me NBN! :saber:

My shitty internet ladies and gentleman,

Download Speed: 0.72 mbps

Upload Speed: 0.10 mbps

Ping: 490 ms

I miss my old ISP, at least there I got around 1.5 mbps, even if it was 30 minutes away from the nearest city.

At least I don't have any restrictions or a data cap.

Is that the legendary dial-up?

It's "supposed" to be high speed internet. As you can clearly see, it's not. Plus they charge me $60 a month for it.

What sucks is that they're the only provider where I live, so I don't have a choice.

Hell, even Comcast had better internet for a cheaper price, plus free Norton.

My restriction is 3GB. About one VN a month.  :vinty:

I couldn't even imagine having a 3GB restriction. I'd burn through that in less than a week.

My god, even the smaller local ISPs in my area could compete against that.

Oh, and even if you were able to get it for free, don't use Norton. :vinty: Microsoft Security Essentials is completely free to use, and it's waaaaaay less bloated.

That's what I'm using right now, but in it's defense, I didn't actually mind Norton. It was a little overprotective, I lost count on how many false positives that thing gave me, but it is a good AV. The price tag is the main deterrent in my case.

Yup. It's funny on how one would burn through it when it's fast. I can't get anything else for where I live, unfortunately.

I know that feel all too well. I'd drop my ISP in a second if I had another option to choose from.
