IMO, kamidori is more of an rpg with VN elements than vice-versa.

It doesn't, really... I mean, it is indeed a JRPG, but only in the most literal sense. This sort of games are eroges with gameplay, and have nothing to do with real JRPGs : p

I don't see why you can't have porn in jrpg. Just because it's a certain genre doesn't mean it can't be tailored for an 18+ audience.

It is only that it is dificult to wove H content into a dramatic story without making it stupid that keeps developers in check. Also you can make a lot more money on non-ero game - as it has no advertising and selling restricions.

I hope those shackles will soon be broken - and evry game will have optional and well done Adult content in it !

I can agree with you about death note, but then again, there are certain VNs with ero scenes that could have done just as well without them, so saying that just because things have a good story means there's no place in it for 18+ material isn't true, imho. But, then again, ymmv.

Yes, ofc. But take as examples the "best" JRPGs you can find. Tactics Ogre, Golden Sun, you name it. The vast majority of them would be broken with the slightest try to put +18 in it, because it simply makes no sense.

And I know what you mean, but even in the case of a main love/romantic interest, H content could ruin it very easily. The assumption I talked about before that VNs make is that when a dude and a girl are into each other, there's bound to be sex sooner or later. And that's obviously true, but in most stories, it would be kind of awkward, or forced, if the main characters in an epic quest suddenly jump from romance to sex.

There's good ways to make that transition, yes, but not in JRPGs, where usually we have our attention on the story and character development, not in waiting for the bang bang to happen.
