Mr Poltroon Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 It's just that the number of times you use the excuse of your arguments being baseless has been drastically increasing. Coincidentally, the number of useless discussions I've been having has also been increasing. Quote
Ouraibaa Hjyuraa Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I don't see a reason to include Caliburn in the game though, seeing that Saber had Excalibur from the start. Anyway, what do you think would Caliburn be able to do if it ever was included in the game? Last time I checked Caliburn was the original sword stuck in the stone, right? It's completely inferior to Excalibur, as far as I'm concerned. But damn. Caliburn being the sword on the stone and all, don't you think it should have some kind of power in it? I mean, people can't even pull that thing out. I wonder why? I'll tell you beforehand that I have not read King Arthur's legend, so I might be asking an obvious thing. I don't know. Memory's getting fuzzy. I can only rely on bits and pieces of my memory. Like the power to stop whoever wields it from aging? It's the only reason Saber in the VN is a young beauty, as opposed to a mature babe. Quote
Kosakyun Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Like the power to stop whoever wields it from aging? It's the only reason Saber in the VN is a young beauty, as opposed to a mature babe. Â Oh. I see. But wouldn't Saber lose that power, given that she had lost Caliburn? Â Edit: Looks like Avalon has the same properties. And it also looks like Caliburn was the one projected by Shirou in Fate. Damn it I'm forgetting. So it is a Noble Phantasm, but it is forever lost... Oh well. Sorry for the useless question. Quote
Ouraibaa Hjyuraa Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 It's also granted kingship of England to whoever could pull it free of the stone. Â But other than stopping physical aging, it didn't have special properties. It was mostly a decorative sword. Quote

Seeing that it was able to break through God's Hand and effectively killing off the remaining 7 lives of Berserker. From what I've read, Caliburn can also project light in order to strike an enemy in a similar manner to that of Excalibur. However, being purposely made for showing the king's authority, it has ornaments which are considered unnecessary for battle, and therefore falls into a category lower than that of Excalibur in terms of power. Â That would still mean it's crazy powerful when compared to normal swords, right? Though it may be due to Saber's skills. Quote

Kosakyun Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 That answers my question then.  In a somewhat related note, does anyone know of an ongoing translation of Fate/Apocrypha?  I know of one, but it might be dead already. Quote

NeroDragon12 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I wonder could they continue Fate/stay night storyline past holy grail or maybe make something that combines all the other series together beside the carnival parody that would be interesting if they tried to make a serious story with everything Quote

NeroDragon12 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Here a interesting fact about one of the possible origin of Excalibur and Caliburn sword metal apparently it came from a fallen meteor   Quote
Ouraibaa Hjyuraa Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 does it not say in the vn that it broke because saber used it for a un knightly like action...... like playing cricket with it. It does say that, but I'm uncertain whether or not it was _because_ because it was an un-knightly action, or if it was while doing something that happened to be un-knightly.  Edit: Fuck, I keep thinking I'm on YouTube Here a interesting fact about one of the possible origin of Excalibur and Caliburn sword metal apparently it came from a fallen meteor   Stop playing Dragon Age: Origins. NeroDragon12 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Stop playing Dragon Age: Origins. Here some Knowledge for you ourai  The sword of King Arthur called "Excalibur" was supposedly "pulled from the stone" .... however, it is not literal as it is understood to be. The term "pulled from stone" is professional lingo used by ancient blacksmiths for forging a lump of iron into a sword. "Pulling" from an indistinguishable chunk of ore something useful to man, forging it into a long thin and straight tool or blade. Most importantly, yet overlooked often, is that it was forged from a meteor, rather than iron ripped from out of mother earth. This is critical because to tear iron from mother earth and use it for weapons of violence is sacrilege to the divine feminine energies. This is why the holy grail and Excalibur were both lost at approximately the same period in the legends, the grail symbolizing the cauldron of rebirth that is the great divine mother. The use of Meteoric iron for fabricating divine empowered tools was extremely sacred in almost every ancient culture, not only the Celts. Quote
