Carronade Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I don't even have Paypal sooo. I really hope they get that $200,000. The way they're going, it's almost a certainty that they'll get the 200.000 Quote
Kosakyun Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 The way they're going, it's almost a certainty that they'll get the 200.000 For a very famous VN like this one, no doubt. Gah. I would've tried to pay if the 18+ version was sure. Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 What do you guys mean hope? They're at $207,649 pledged of $160,000 goal or am I reading this wrong? I have to ask though: What makes the Grisaia trilogy so popular? I feel like it's the most spoken about VN on the internet lately. It's good but it's not on Muv Luv Alternative's level or anything. sirjabberwock Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Can you not use your credit card for kickstarter? Damn I was considering shelling out that $120. I really want to see the 18+ editions though (what able-minded person wouldn't :3) Quote
NhKPaNdA Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Isn't Kickstarter credit card only ? As far as I remember from the FAQ is that they don't have a function to support PayPal and only support a majority of credit cards. Quote

Mr Poltroon Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Popularity does not have to be based on quality. Lul idk, somehow it just received more exposure. It's the #1 viewed walkthrough on these forums (a whopping 260k views, more than double of the #2 viewed walkthrough F/SN at 120k views). Quote

Eclipsed Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 That is correct; so my question is what's the mass appeal of it, if not quality? Not that Grisaia isn't a quality VN. Maybe it's like Kosaki-kun said, it's more recent and up to date? Quote
RinXD Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Muv luv alt did have an anime but it sucked really bad Quote

crunchytaco Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 My hipster-blood is boiling. Don't be jealous of my jealousy. http://vimeo.com/62685304 To answer you, Grisaia established its popularity before the Anime came along. I could think of other VNs in Grisaia's genre that have no where near its popularity despite being as good or better. Quote
RinXD Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 oh I was just pointing out that a VN having an anime isnt always a good thing Quote
TexasDice Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Weren't there like fivehundred ads for Grisaia all over japan a few weeks ago? I remember that from a video I saw. Don't be jealous of my jealousy. That's pretty meta. Quote

It's good but it's not on Muv Luv Alternative's level or anything. Hits all the "feelings" buttons for some people and has a good translation. I thought it was good, but nothing to write home about, except Angelic Howl. Quote
