Guest Unavailable Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I don't know what country Yandere is based in, but I wonder if it's possible they got a sort of "cease and desist" order (or other form of bullying) from Minato Soft's lawyers, that prohibited them from publicly saying they'd received the order. It'd explain their silence, unwillingness, lack of updates, removal of links to the current partial patch from their site (Aiyoku no Eustia's are still there, for example)... and maybe when they said to wait, they meant they were looking at their options to fighting it or such ...just a passing thought. Well, a lot of people hates on translators just... Because. You can see a lot of anon doing mockery to Miyako's route since a year ago (in vntls, vndbs, etc, etc), so It's plausible that some fag dude told Minato Soft about the translation (the same happened a few days ago, someone went to suck up to Moenovel and Pulltop when they saw the translation proyect of Cocoro@Function! here in fuwa.) But, I think it was really dropped because of personal circumstances or lack of motivation, or that's what I want to believe. Quote
InDansity Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 But it's just a fan translation, why would minatosoft be involved? Quote
SieghartXx Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 But it's just a fan translation, why would minatosoft be involved? Anyone could tell them that the translation was made to make profit (a lie), or they can just be like a lot of other visual novel companies: They don't like their games being played in the west. I'm just making assumptions, so don't pay too much attention to my ramblngs xD Quote
Guest Hungry Reader Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Actually, I'm deeply interested in your ramblings . So much that I want to know more about that kind of stuff. Can somebody tell me where I can find some detailed explication about "who own what", and how the translation teams are working? I didn't find something satisfying on my own... Quote
Guest Unavailable Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 But it's just a fan translation, why would minatosoft be involved? I forgot what VN it was (Maybe ef - a fairy tale of the two), but I remember a story of the original writers demanding that the translation be exact, without changing any of the grammar and wording to bridge the culture gap. It led to being a 'rocky' read in some places for western fans. But, that's their right as the creator to want to maintain the original integrity ... anyway, that could be one reason for the publishers not liking it, and I feel it's respectable. A shame, but respectable. Quote

Nixzilla Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Are they getting to start with the little bit of Miyako's route that was translated in the Wanko patch? Did they every get ahold of the 85% translation? Quote

Did they every get ahold of the 85% translation? Because of complications, we are basically starting from scratch. Oh, and we are doing Agave route, too, if anyone were wondering. P.S. AWESOME avatar, dude. Nixzilla 1 Quote
Azengar Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Hello everyone, I haven't posted here recently due to my exams, but it's all over now and I'm in vacation (hehe). So, yeah Ouraibaa pretty much said everything, yandere doesn't seem like giving their translation to someone else and since we weren't sure wheter or not they would complete Miyako's route, Agave is being translated as well. Wanko <3 I think this is the only visual novel were I love all of the heroines, and even all of the female cast cofcofexcept for Hagurocofcof Quote

Any particular reason as to why i should wait when doing her route? without giving away spoilers haha and yes i already know that some of the routes have after stories the tutorial told me lol Quote

Oh, and some characters have "After stories" that you can play after the route, so be sure to check those out, too. I played Wanko first since Miyako was missing. It was a long time ago, but I can't really think of why Wanko should have been saved for last (other than making you hostile towards Chris who I hated anyway just from the prologue). I'm curious why you would have chosen to play Wanko last? I actually can't think of who I'd save for last. All the routes were stand-alone to me. I guess Momoyo just because she came off as a spotlight character (out of the translated routes), though the route was nothing special in my opinion ... I think think Umeko had the framework for the best route if they gave her the full treatment. There was a lot of room for story telling and awkward scenarios/social encounters. Shame. The afterstories were incredibly disappointing compared to other VN's. I mean, I couldn't post spoilers about them even if I wanted to because there's no real story in them. It's basically just a lot of porn with no real closure. I guess you could say the afterstories just wanted to let everyone know that the couples had a healthy sexual relationship ever after. Quote

Well, what happens in Wanko's route is hinted at in all the other routes. (Like with Momoyo's need for fighting.) The main reason is quite simply because Wanko's route is the only sad one, thus it would be best to save it for last in order to build up emotional attachment. Also, it would be quite depressing to play her route first and then, knowing her fate, having to watch her fighting a losing battle in the other routes. Also, yeah, Chris never really sat well with me. Neither did Mayucchi. Still love the interactions they bring to the table, though. Quote
Nixzilla Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Ty for all the posts complementing my pic, and thank you for also doing the Agave route. I can't wait to be able to pick Miyako outside of the rape scenes. Quote

Take another +1 for avatar)) As for routes order completion that mentioned above, i just played main heroines routes by exact the same order as i like girls - the most favourite go last. So i have been waiting for a long time to play Miyako eventually) Quote

You're absolutely right. While the other routes almost all followed a redundant formula with a major event in the middle, Wanko's certaintly stood out in terms of character development and immersion which caused a strong connection to the reader. I'm disappointed in myself for not catching that. I see your point now, for sure. I guess it would depend on how much you like dramatic stories, but Wanko's was definitely the best translated route in that respect. Quote
