f/sn Realta Nua content question

So, I bought Fate/Stay Night [Realta Nua] (this PSvita version) when I was in Japan, though I don't actually know much about the different versions of Fate at all, and figured I'd ask here. The H is obviously missing from this, since it's an all-ages platform, but one thing I don't know is if any of the violence has been censored. Does anyone know?

I glanced at a couple of CGs for Fate a while back, and noticed they were... quite violent. Does anyone know if this version censors any of the gore/ violence in the game? Or is it just the porn that's gone? Also, is the porn totally cut out and not refrenced at all, or are there replacement scenes in their stead?

From my memories it is the porn that's gone, added Voice Acting, added scenes and CG's. I don't remember if anything was "censored"

The references to porn are all cut and instead replaced with additional scenes to replace and fill in the "gap." Also additional content, content, and CG were added

They added weird and contrived story justifications for the porn that were replaced in the realta nua version, so in effect, it writes out the sex entirely (I'm pretty sure).

The violence/gore is kept intact, though the game never had much explicit gore to begin with.

Edit: Ah, I see. I've seen Prisma Illya, so I can guess what the porn was there for, lol. Hm, I saw at least three CGs that were very bloody and voilent. While there wasn't a lot of "gore", there was a lot of blood. But that's all intact?

The justifications for some sex scenes were pretty lame on the original to begin with. But oh well, here's a summary of everything that changed:

- Mana transfer via sex became a one battling in the mind of the other person or vampirism

- Contract sex became some illusion thing with dolphins or something

- One completely random dream sex scene became a yuri flirting thing for whatever reason

- Blood was toned down in some CGs

- Illyas eyes are a bit smaller in some CGs, maybe for her not to be so child like????

- Rape references were purged

- One CG of a character ripping another's heart was purged as well

- There's now voices, new CGs, new songs, new events in some random places, new OPs and an epilogue for Saber

You can actually get the best of both worlds with the reality nua pc version. It is a modded combination of the reality nua extra content and keeps a lot of the original fate's stuff. It even has a cool flowchart.

Hmm, that is what I feared... some of the CGs looked a bit too violent for the PSvita. Ugh, censorship-kun, why u do dis.

Is this an official port, or is this a thing added in the fanTL? I'd like to read it in Japanese, as I have heard some... not so good stuff about the translation.

It's an english fan-patch for the pc download version of realta-nua.

That's a feature of the fantranslation as far as I know.

Personally I found neither the original scenes nor their replacements to be particular strong. The original scenes felt kind of forced in to have ero content and the new scenes withs dolphins and dragons where kind of weird. Either one conveys what happens in regards of plot relevance.

But I can't really say something about the rest of the censorship.

Is this an official port, or is this a thing added in the fanTL? I'd like to read it in Japanese, as I have heard some... not so good stuff about the translation.

I'd say it's still worth it. It's pretty much impossible to get the original in Japanese at this point. Besides, I think there's not much differences in the text of the battles, only in the CGs themselves. The only route that'll feel different tho is Heavens Feel, since some backstory had to be completely rewritten. But you can read about it later I guess.

That's a shame. I'm not a big fan of reading works that have been edited like that, but I guess I don't have much of a choice. Either that or a sub-par TL, I guess. Maybe I'll check out the TL too, and have the game running on my Vita on the side and compare them.

For what it's worth, according to Nasu, Realta Nua basically represents his original intent before he felt obligated to insert porn into the game. I get the feeling that the truth is somewhere in the middle (as in, sony's restrictions probably forced him to remove more content for the realta nua version than he otherwise would've).

In later works like Ataraxia, he just hired someone else to write his porn. Which is what should have happened with the original.
