Kenshin_sama Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 With my limited knowledge of Japanese, I might not be giving an accurate answer. I typed katagiri and used a couple suggestions from IME to fill in the kanji in Jisho. This is what I got. https://jisho.org/search/片桐 https://jisho.org/search/片切 Someone might be able to give a better answer, though. +StrikeR+ 1 Quote

ittaku Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 It helps if you show us how it's written. The meaning is often altered according to the kanji chosen, and even then it doesn't always have a clear meaning. +StrikeR+ 1 Quote

The only thing I can say about this name is that it just happens to be the name of a heroine in Nukitashi as well. +StrikeR+ 1 Quote

What does your last name mean? lol If you really want to try to force a meaning on this name: 「片」 meaning "fragment" and 「桐」 referring to a foxglove tree. The foxglove tree's leaves are heart-shaped. Thus, you could think of the name meaning "a fragment of (one's) heart". This is just one possible interpretation and could be totally bullshit. Edited December 16, 2019 by 1P1A word Quote
