sarkasmus Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Really depends on the day, if i just bought a new book or game i usually don't play at all. But usually on workdays i play 2-3 hours (split between VNs, games and books) depending on what i feel like on weekends with bad weather make that up to 15 hours depending if i feel like cooking or making a cake again. If the weather is good however it's only 3-4 hours because go hiking whenever i get the chance. So it can vary between 0 and 45 hours per week. Quote
auntwitch Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Imagine not being addicted to gacha games and actually having time to play VIsual Novels as a result [sobs] No, but seriously though. Visual novels are kinda like books to me, so I tend to play them "if I'm in the mood for it"----which isn't that often, sadly. Love VNs, just not able to concentrate on them as much as I wish I could. This forum has been remotivating me to get back into them properly, though! Quote
rannar99 Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Usually I play for 1-3 hours every day. In the past I played far less(wasn't much to choose from back in the day). Quote
Nemesis Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 I play around 10-20 hours per week. Covid and working from home has given me quite a bit of extra time everyday. Quote
adamstan Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Since I finished HoshiOri a month ago, I'm on a self-imposed break from VNs - because when I get into one, I often end up using almost all my free time for reading - and there were some other things that I had or wanted to do But I'm starting to feel withdrawal symptoms Quote
alexfang452 Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 I try to read for at least 30 minutes a day. On the weekend, I can spend as much time on a VN as I want. Quote
CruelN1N1 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Kinda dropped playing for a long time. Been playing like kind off on and off lately so like 1 vn per 1 month? fuyopon 1 Quote
Epschy Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 It varies a lot for me. When I'm playing a visual novel, I usually spend 1 to 3 hours in one day, and I always stop once I reach a chapter's end. But there are days in which I don't read VNs, even though I'm playing one at that moment. Quote
Hayakawa Ko Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 When a finally sit down to relax, play at least for some time, it all depends on how the week goes. Quote
alexfang452 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 It depends on my life. Sometimes, I can spend over 5 hours a week on VNs. Then, there are weeks where I just reach 1 hour due to class assignments, playing other games, or I just get distracted. Quote
LostPomegranate Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) It varies a ton for me...last week my wife was on vacation, so I read for 43 hours. So far this week I've only read about 7. I'm on medical leave at the moment, so I probably average somewhere in the realm of 25-35 hours / wk reading VN's though right now. I sort of dropped playing other video games almost entirely. On the extreme end in one 10 day period last year I read 110 hours (read G-sen, Making Lovers including FD and Kin'iro including FD). So my reading habits kind of vary pretty wildly, but I usually finish 1-2 VN's a week without too much trouble. Edited June 19, 2024 by LostPomegranate Quote
fuyopon Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 just updating this, since I have a notification on it: I'm playing way more now, so I'd say around 3 hours a day? It depends on how busy I am, but I try to read at least 30 minutes, ideally 1 hour daily Quote
cadensos Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I play as much as I can personally. I'd say generally I play about 6 hours (I'm a student and get my work done before I go home, so I have plenty of time) for weekends, it can really depend on the day. Usually, I'll spend the whole day trying to get through the VN, I like to finish VNs in a couple days so it's important I read as much as possible. However, I do have days where I take breaks and might not read at all. I like to get immersed in the stories I read, and I just personally can't if I only spend a few minutes reading. Plus, I have 100s of VNs I want to read, so I have to be pretty dedicated. Makes me wonder what percentage of my life will have been spent on VNs. Quote
