Font problem in a kirikiri-based VN

So I'm currently translating this game in Russian and I have this really big font problems, bc the game uses some standart Chinese font that has Latin alphabet in it, but doesn't support Cyrillics. 

The text in Russian looks like that, with these giant spaces between the letters, while the spacing should be similar to English text. So i need to change the game font to a font with Cyrillic glyphs, and this is where The Problem appears. 

I tried to:

- change userFace in Config.tjs;

- change all the entries in all *.tjs where the default font appears to Arial or Times New Roman;

- change fontname in all the *.edu files;

- change MainWindoe.tjs and the chDefaultFace line

but nothing works.

The only thing I was able to do was to change the pitch for smaller spaces between glyphs, but it doesn't work in Yes No Dialogs or in the History Window and, well, doesn't solve the main problem anyway.

I've read a ton of forums, both Russian and English ones, but I haven't found a working solution yet.

Please help me, I have no idea what to do now T_T

I can reproduce the issue here.

Most Russian TLs I've seen of Kirikiri games port the game engine to Ren'Py.

Hi. Did you find how to solve this problem? I try to translate Steins Gate Hen'i Kuukan no Octet (https://vndb.org/v9887) into Russian and change the font there but the same things happen as in the first comment.
