So far I finished Akari's and Hotaru's, and haven't encountered this scene) And yesterday I finished Hotaru's route. OMG, so much cuteness And nice character development for Hotaru. Sweet little route, and sweet little Hotaru Again, Steam version is identical to Cruise Sign version, no additional censorship. Translation is similar to Akari's route - not great, not terrible So now, onto the Kanako's route. The screenshot is indeed from Kanako's route. Flight Diary was quite good yes. New routes were nice and the sequel routes had some good stuff too. adamstan 1 Quote
ArgentstR Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) Wasn't Kanako in the fifth year? I'd assume that puts her in the 19-21 year range. Edited December 6, 2019 by ArgentstR Quote

Yep. Participation has also dropped off in recent years, I believe, but don't quote me on that. Dreamysyu 1 Quote
Dankstat Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 There are two types of visual novels. -The ones that acknowledge that you're having sex with teenagers. -The ones that fucking lie. Quote

Okay, so I encountered that scene just now. In Japanese version it is like this: She says:「亜紗ちゃんの学年だと、 学生結婚を果たしたことになってるらしいわよ」, which would roughly translate as "[Asa's classmates think/say that] we already got married as a students" (学生結婚 means "student marriage"). So while this version doesn't mention age explicitly, translated version isn't that much off. But of course it clashes with the disclaimer we're discussing in this thread Edited December 7, 2019 by adamstan Quote

I always thought it was in that grey area anyway depending on where you are for age of consent. Like, for example, even if it was just 'high school' (or college for the UK, ergo ages 15-19), in the UK the age of consent is 16, so characters being around that age getting into relationships and sexual exploration isn't exactly that far-fetched, and I don't think it is something as horrific as some cultures make it out to be. Then again, I don't really like reading stuff where some of the romancable characters are clearly at the age of 10-13 or younger, and no, the whole 'it's a vampire, they're 2,000 years old' thing doesn't work if after 2,000 years they still act emotionally and otherwise like an 11 year old. If it wasn't for anti-child pornography laws age wouldn't really matter that much for fictional romance and sex. I mean, people would still consider it gross under some threshold, depending on their cultural context and personal convictions, but that IMO has little to do with the legal the requirement that all pornographic depiction has to portray only adults. I mean, most sane people would consider high schoolers having sex a pretty normal thing and if you talk about it in-depth, they would probably agree that it should be a fair game for most kinds of fictional depictions, as long as actual, living minors aren't involved. But we have laws to protect children, so that obvious loli, acting and looking like a small kid is totally okay as long we say she's "over 18", while if we admit that two mature-looking high school seniors making out in our manga/game are probably 17 it's literally a criminal offence. So, the next time you think Steam policies are unreasonable, remember that laws that they're a reaction to are actually even more unreasonable. Quote
