Funyarinpa Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 About to hit 50 hours in Persona 4 Golden. LOVE IT, LOVE ALL OF IT LiquidShu 1 Quote
Fred the Barber Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 The coffin for my dead PS4 arrived today, so I played "ship it back". If I'm lucky, I'll be back to playing Disgaea 5 in a mere three more weeks. Quote
Jun Inoue Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Restarted my Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition campaign for the third time, since I fucked up a trait on one of my characters. The game's not forgiving enough to just let that pass (at least not on high difficulty). Despite that, the game's super awesome. Need to try the co-op campaign, though. Quote
HotTrax Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Revisited Halo 5. I really need to get back into that game, still have not touched the new maps that came out. Also, my go-to game to just relax Witcher 3. I love encountering new places and enemies I’ve never cross paths with. This goddamn game man.   Quote
MasterTreecko Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Currently playing Stella Glow for 3DS. The soundtrack from this game is really amazing, especially Sakuya's Cherry Blossom song. I'm in Chapter 10 and the battles are getting challenging now. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Okay so I wanted to do a little overview on the three games I'm currently playing. All on Vita, woo!1) Persona 4 Golden- GOTY. The game fucking sucked me in and I'm utterly in love with the cast. It all feels so fun and carefree! Inaba is the most "real" place I've ever seen in a game, and the cast is my favorite ever too. The school campout, the night at the inn, the beach trip- They all felt so real, so beautiful.Doesn't even matter that I don't like the JRPG part much.2) Danganronpa Another Episode- So far it's a 7.5/10. The shooting is enjoyable but utterly unremarkable and the story is... decent. Fukawa's WAY better than in the first game but there still isn't much to truly hook me on the game. At least the plot is darker than the other two and the OST is pretty good. The art style is pretty good too (it's like a 3D render of DR1) except the fact that it lacks detailed textures so much that at times you only see two different plain colors on screen. The cast's too small to be interesting too. In Chapter 2 so far.3) Samurai Warriors 4- I quite like this game. Musou, performs well, cute girls and badass guys. First Musou game (played the shit out of a couple of demos though), no qualms with it except for the command for calling the horse being the upper left rear touchpad. Story isn't bad, game's fun, all is good. After finishing DR:AE and P4G I'll be moving on to Planescape: Torment on PC and then Soul Sacrifice and SW4 on Vita. Might get Persona 3 Portable and jump into that instead down the line. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I suddenly got a huge DRPG fever the other day and started searching for something new and interesting to satisfy my crawling needs. In the end I picked up 7th Dragon 2020, partly because I decided that I might as well grind my Japanese along with some levels. It's much less stressful when you don't have to understand everything you read to fully enjoy something. And it seems like a pretty solid dungeon crawler. Combat is fairly normal, but solid. The character classes are pretty interesting with a slight sci-fi twists and the resource management is made less frustrating using out-of-battle healing skills. That way you can save your items and other valuables to where they really count.Presentation is really good as well. The Chibi 3D-models are nice, but the character designs/portrait illustrations are just awesome. There's also a superb VA-cast and Hatsune Miku songs in this game, and I'm quite liking it. Pretty portraits and energetic voices make my all-girl party even better.   Quote
Jade Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Finish playing Yakuza 5. God 42 hours well spent   Ending is a bit lacking tho Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 P4G is donewhat do I do with my life now Quote
HotTrax Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 P4G is donewhat do I do with my life nowThat is pretty much the standard reaction I see after someone finishes that game. I have definitely been there myself.  Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 P4G is donewhat do I do with my life nowThe answer is easy, play it one more time. And then Persona 3. And then you can really feel lost and empty inside... Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I don't think I can touch it for at least a year  Quote
LiquidShu Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 P4G is donewhat do I do with my life nowPersona 4 Arena Ultimax (includes both Arena and Ultimax story), Persona 4 Dancing All Night, and you could always dabble into other Persona games. Quote

Eclipsed Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 "Finished" Ciel Nosurge, so now I'll start over in Ar Nosurge (I left off where Earthes was first introduced. Jeebuz, now that I know his backstory, definitely looking forward to how his relationship w/ Ion will progress continue). It's a real damn shame Ciel Nosurge didn't and won't get a localization, would've been fun to check out some of the life-sim aspects with Ion Would totally recommend people who pick up Ar Nosurge to read/watch the summaries of Ciel Nosurge, the two are literally direct sequel/prequels to each other w/ the same cast & plot, screw the "Delta forgot everything as well, so the player won't feel bad about not understanding shat" gimmick! Quote

LiquidShu Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 @Decay In the end I had to return the 500w after all, just didn't feel comfortable with it. Will this do? http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-BRONZE-Continuous-Warranty-100-B1-0600-KR/dp/B00EON40CS/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1451626195&sr=1-4&keywords=power+supply. It's 600w and the same price point. If you have something better around 40 - 50 link it away! Quote
Funyarinpa Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Danganronpa Another Episode gets pretty good in Chapter 3 Quote
Eclipsed Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Quick reflection on my Q4 2015 (mostlyVita) gaming experience: Nabbed Vita in late September Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 1 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 2 Corpse Party: Blood Drive Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed Atelier Ayesha Plus Fairy Fencer F Ciel Nosurge (watched) Ar Nosurge Plus Best girl: Ionasal.kkll.PrecielWaifu(s): Ar Nosurge's Casty, Hyperdimension Neptunia's Uni, Fairy Fencer F's Tiara, Atelier Ayesha's Wilbell (image chosen from Atelier Shallie, where Wilbell is 24) You'd think I would have more subjective-objective stuff like best story, most enjoyable or GOTY, but eh One of the waifu's below was mentioned by 'him' recently, in excitement for the game that came out on Jan. 19th-ish it was Wilbell...      ~~ In other related news, it's time for me to start playing some real JRPGs; I picked up Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky & SC for my Vita. I have heard nothing but praise for this series, and those of you who've played it typically commented that you were left with an 'empty feeling' afterwards so I'm expecting great things.  Quote

Play all the amazing games! Trails in the Sky FC is somewhat of a slow burner, whether that bothers you or not is a very personal thing. But they payoff is so amazing. And it's not like FC is a bad game, far from it. It has great characters and character development, especially with the main pair; Estelle and Joshua. The world they've created is very cohesive and the way NPC react to current events and passing of time makes it feel very real. It's advisable to talk to random townspeople after main quests and bigger events, as they usually have something new and interesting to say. And their own little stories keep progressing through the game if you keep talking to them. Go and find your own favorite random NPC. And once your done with FC the real treat, Second Chapter awaits. It's better in every possible way and an truly amazing experience. SC was the other contender for my GotY 2015.  Eclipsed 1 Quote

Jun Inoue Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 TitS FC and SC are truly great. Together they tell a story so engaging with such human characters that I'm not surprised at all when many people and sites claim it to be the best JRPG of the decade. Btw, I recommend the PC version. While the game is clearly made for the PSP/PSVita, the PC version got bug and translarion fixes. And yoi can just connect a controller and use it, if anything!  I'll add to this by saying that Trails of Cold Steel got released this past December. It's a different kind of beast, not as epic or lovely, but I'm enjoying it immensely. I'm 2/3 or so in the game and have thrown over 70h on it, mostly cuz I love speaking to and getting to know every single character in the Trails games. Quote
