Best game to feel like a badass in. And Halo 5, still go to game in general. I think I'm around 6 days total play time. Still fun and frustrating at times. Post launch support is superb, Firefight was my favorite mode in ODST. Hope it is fun. Are you going to play/watch The Answer chapter? (I totally dug it but I know some don't like.) Yeah I will but it's like 4 hours long so I will start it today. Quote
Deep Blue Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 playing deponia doomsday if you are a fan of adventure games you must play this saga (not this one because is quite far into the story) just when I started playing umineko again D: Suzu Fanatic 1 Quote

ODST's Firefight is an awesome mode for co-op, especially couch co-op. My old roommate and I played it all the time that back in the day, and I even dug it out of the closet and we played a fair bit of it when he was in town a couple years ago. It's still tons of fun. I'm still unsure how I feel about it, but there's one thing I already know: I'm very, very, extremely, disappointed that the MC is a pathetic whelp. I utterly hate blank MCs, but oh boy how much I would love to have one here, instead of this bumbling idiot of Yew. It won't be out here for another 1.5 months, and I was looking forward to it, since I rather liked the last one. However, initial reviews seem to be mostly coming in pretty negative in comparison with the original, and are largely bashing the trite story. Negative reviews of the voice acting and a pretty seriously censored localization aren't too promising either. Sigh. I'm still pouring time into Stardew Valley, and having a blast with it. 14 hours logged so far according to Steam and I only got it on Saturday o_O. If you're looking for a fix for your Harvest Moon / Rune Factory addiction, this is it. Quote

I've heard awful things, like that parts of the story have been completely taken out cuz they have deaths and stuff, but I'm not sure if it's true. The stuff about the story is true. Long story short, it feels like they've dropped the age of the players they seem to be aiming the game for. If the first game was for teenagers-adults, this one is for pre-teens-teenagers. Silly story, lack of detail and explanation (things just happen because they happen) or any nuance, stupid enemies, childish reasonings, and so on. I'm still playing it cuz I somewhat enjoyed the gameplay and class system and all from the first game. But I must say that it truly is a disappointment. Fred the Barber 1 Quote
Mevvrynne Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Decided to grab Grim Dawn with a buddy of mine from work. We're both big Diablo 2 fans and this just felt like a wave of nostalgia. It takes pretty much all the good aspects of dungeon crawler-like games and smacks it all into one. If there's any cons I say immediately it's the fact that if you're playing co-op and you or one of your party members is ranged and someone stands on top of your/their cursor as they are firing their weapon, it turns off their attack or just doesn't do it or moves to that location if that's what it's shared bound to. The Disgaea series is a bunch of quirky, fun SRPGs with a lot of unique mechanics. It's not very difficult, unless you want to go all the way through all the bonus content, of which each game has tons, and which is pretty entertaining as well; it not being especially difficult may be a pro or a con for you, so I'm just calling it out for completeness. It's also not a game where probability calculations usually have all that much of an impact; I personally find it annoying when games, especially SRPGs, end up having the RNG being the make-or-break factor, but I guess some people like this? If you're interested in the series and have a PS4, I'd start with the latest one, Disgaea 5. If no PS4, maybe start with the very first release, Disgaea, which should hold up well even though it's been a loooong time since it came out, and which is available on pretty much any system you can imagine (they actually just released the PC version on Steam a couple weeks ago). If it looks too old for you, maybe Disgaea 4 is the way to go (Vita and PS3), but a lot of the gameplay mechanics in that one bothered me. Quote

Eclipsed Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Time to give my 3DS some love and start playing Fire Emblem: Awakening. Hear nothing but praise so it should be good. The only background knowledge I have from the Fire Emblem series is from Super Smash Bros. Melee Marth & Roy, and Smash 3DS Ike Lucina Robin Oh hey! Robin's the MC for Awakening? Coolio. Definitely picking female. And pink hair. Dunno if JP voices, I'm used to Robin's EN dub battle cries from Smash, but eh, might as well JP. 'cos. Quote
Funyarinpa Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Playing Shin Megami Tensei 4 right now (3DS), it's great. I have about 10 hours on it. Quote
Arcadeotic Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I've been getting back into Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Still is my favorite game of all time So good Quote

Jibril Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Finished Superhot.... SUPERHOT IS THE MOST INNOVATIVE SHOOTER I'VE PLAYED IN YEARS! *cough cough* Anyway also finished Undertale. Gotta love those metagaming. Off to find more of those games... hopefully. Quote
Eclipsed Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Because I'm so horribad I need to play Awakening on easy. Fk perma-deaths, I know you can just reset and git gud at the game if someone dies during a mission, but frankly I am a filthy casual. qq Quote

They don't give you that option. It's always permanent death and normal difficulty. It's only after you beat that do you get the choice to "level out" the stat growth to be predictable and make the game harder. Though, the gba games had a soft reset trick to roll the game back a few turns provided you saved. Can't remember if game cube games allowed it. Quote

Path of Radiance on Gamecube and Radiant Dawn on Wii did have an Easy difficulty option in Non-Japanese Copies of the game (they also removed Lunatic difficulty from these releases as well). Also I believe it was in Radiant Dawn (although I might have this backwards), where you could make a save every single turn without any consequences, and just reload if you messed up. Quote
br4zil Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 At the moment: -Playing a bit of Starcraft 2. -Tomb Raider 2 -To End All Wars -Panzer Corps (actually managed to get over 200h on that game). I actually bought Final Fantasy 7 and 13 on the recent steam sale (best and worst, according to my friends), i wanna try them out, but my time as of late for gaming is getting shorter and shorter. I just keep getting spammed with assigments from the university. On 05/03/2016 at 2:21 PM, Nashetania said: Can anyone recommend me good strategy/RPG/SRPG game? Decay Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I played Black Desert Online for a couple of hours after mooching a guest pass from a friend. Holy Christ is that game impenetrable. The translation is so intensely awful that I never understand what is being said to me and if they're explaining any of the systems, none of it is getting through. Actually, I'm pretty sure they just aren't bothering to explain those systems at all. They throw so much at your face and the only thing I understand are the basic combat mechanics. The gathering and crafting, the conversation system, the node system, and pretty much everything else? I ain't gotta clue. What a mess. The actual sandbox gameplay and actiony combat laying underneath it all seems kind of appealing. But the game actively repels you with every fiber of its being. I don't know if I have the fortitude to press on. Quote
Arcadeotic Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I finally bought Terraria from Steam Well, actually it was gifted to me, but it was 2,49€, so it doesn't really matter I played it for a few hours, it's good but I've already played like 400 hours with my copy of Terraria from GOG. Still good though Quote
Rainey Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Playing Dragon Quest Builders atm, it's so addicting. I feel like I'm spending more time building my town than advancing the story. Quote
Leaf Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I'm on Bravely Default 5th chapter right now, I want to finish this before Bravely Second comes out so must hurry. Actually had this game for a while, but never got around to it till now. Got Agnes as a pretty good White Mage/Spiritmaster so that will definitely come in handy. Quote
SilverLi Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I'm in a slump at the moment. I don't know why but I am not interested in anything at the moment. But that's probably because I am hyped about at least 5 games in a couple of months. There goes my promise not hyping stuff. Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, Total War: Warhammer, FE: Fates, Pokémon Moon and I probably forgot about one or two games. At least I am not buying them on release before I thoroughly researched the games and the state of the product. But I waste time in Europa Universalis 4, Endless Space and Civilization 5 multiplayer runs. Also I bought Black Desert Online which I am going to play with some friends most likely. Quote
Arcadeotic Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Still playing Rabi-Ribi After about 35 hours of metroidvania crack, I've finally beaten the final boss of the story Now onto extra content I swear this game is like a drug to me Help me Quote
sub-zer0 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Been playing a ton of Elder scrolls online,I got the game when the thieves guild dlc came out, and the dlc is pretty good for new players since it makes you a little bit more extra cash, Its a good MMORPG, but IMO its not as good as GW2, mainly because it has no auction house or sales system...selling stuff and buying stuff can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
