A little bit of Disgea 1. I sort of forgot about it though.

As someone who pre-ordered The Last of Us, I was kind of let down. Sure it had moments, and was a pretty game, but it gets kind of stale and the story is all downhill after the prologue. And don't get me started on that shitty ending.

And don't get me started on that shitty ending.

I actually just beat the game not even an hour ago.

I really liked the ending. I'm glad that Naughty Dog had some balls and actually decided to make their main character do something scummy. I don't necessarily think the person the player is taking control of needs to be a "hero" in the traditional sense. Joel did something really selfish and basically doomed mankind in the process. Which makes him a hero to Ellie, not a hero to mankind. But to be honest, as the story went on, I didn't really care that much for mankind by the end of it. The world had already gone to shit and the people in it were even more cruel and heartless than the infected. In the end all I cared about was Joel and Ellie's happiness. And while I will say It was surprising that Joel basically lied to Ellie's face in the final cutscene. It's how the saying goes: "Ignorance is bliss" so as long as they're happy, I'm content, and more importantly; convinced that the hours I spent watching Ellie and Joel go on their journey was worth it.

I like a game that plays with my expectations. The Last of Us is definitely bumping something off my top 5, and I'm gonna buy it after I return my rented copy.

Disgea 4 is a lot of fun, but I really need to get better at it, or grind my levels higher to just brute force my way through the game. No gameovers yet, but my lower level members keep getting KO'd way too easily.

Racking up enough points to reincarnate is key.  Just don't do everyone at once or you'll get stuck and have to spend hours grinding.

Prepare for the addiction known as the Item World ;)

The last 5 games I am currently playing are Age of Wonders 3, Wasteland 2, Tales of Xillia 2, Super Smash Bros 3DS, and Final Fantasy XIV.

I'm thinking about picking up Borderlands: The Pre-sequel, pending if my two friends who I played the other games with get it. Has anyone picked it up?

Mass Effect is... alright, I guess?

It's pretty nice but the graphics annoy me for some reason and the gunplay is not satisfying. Also, I keep accidentally pressing space and opening the tactical view for no reason at all, which is jarring.

We'll see if it gets better.

Oddly, there are some games with graphics that really rub me off the wrong way, like Bioshock and also ME1 now.

Teehee.

On a serious note, are you referring to the first game? Mass Effect 2 & 3 streamlines some of the RPG elements found in the first one, but they greatly improve on the gunplay. The combat gets pretty fun in the other games, and the multiplayer in the third one is a blast.

Evil Within has been kicking my ass in the later chapters. On around chapter 10, and I'm constantly just getting put into situations where I'm using all of my resources just to get by. Definitely keeps me on the edge of my toes, but at the same times it's starting to frustrate me a little bit. Kind of wish the game would go back to being like the first 5 chapters.

Still haven't decided what to buy. I really really want The Evil Within, but the PC problems worry me, and I don't want to play a horror game on console without my head set. I do want Alien: Isolation a lot, but it seems ripe for a price cut around Xmas.

Meanwhile, Wolfenstein sits on my wishlist.
