EliteShadowMan Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 A little bit of Disgea 1. I sort of forgot about it though. As someone who pre-ordered The Last of Us, I was kind of let down. Sure it had moments, and was a pretty game, but it gets kind of stale and the story is all downhill after the prologue. And don't get me started on that shitty ending. Quote
bl3u Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 And don't get me started on that shitty ending. I actually just beat the game not even an hour ago. I really liked the ending. I'm glad that Naughty Dog had some balls and actually decided to make their main character do something scummy. I don't necessarily think the person the player is taking control of needs to be a "hero" in the traditional sense. Joel did something really selfish and basically doomed mankind in the process. Which makes him a hero to Ellie, not a hero to mankind. But to be honest, as the story went on, I didn't really care that much for mankind by the end of it. The world had already gone to shit and the people in it were even more cruel and heartless than the infected. In the end all I cared about was Joel and Ellie's happiness. And while I will say It was surprising that Joel basically lied to Ellie's face in the final cutscene. It's how the saying goes: "Ignorance is bliss" so as long as they're happy, I'm content, and more importantly; convinced that the hours I spent watching Ellie and Joel go on their journey was worth it. I like a game that plays with my expectations. The Last of Us is definitely bumping something off my top 5, and I'm gonna buy it after I return my rented copy. Quote
solidbatman Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Disgea 4 is a lot of fun, but I really need to get better at it, or grind my levels higher to just brute force my way through the game. No gameovers yet, but my lower level members keep getting KO'd way too easily. Quote

Just don't do everyone at once or you'll get stuck and have to spend hours grinding. Quote

LiquidShu Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Does anyone here play HoTS (Heroes of The Swarm)? I have been playing it with some friends attempting to stray a little from League (not happening ). Quote

sirjabberwock Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Approx 4-5 Hour per case, there is 6 Cases in the game. So, between 16 and 20 hours. Quote

Kurisu-Chan Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I may try this if the hype is truly real. Is it? Quote
Funyarinpa Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Mass Effect is... alright, I guess? It's pretty nice but the graphics annoy me for some reason and the gunplay is not satisfying. Also, I keep accidentally pressing space and opening the tactical view for no reason at all, which is jarring. We'll see if it gets better. Oddly, there are some games with graphics that really rub me off the wrong way, like Bioshock and also ME1 now. Quote

Funyarinpa Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Teehee. On a serious note, are you referring to the first game? Mass Effect 2 & 3 streamlines some of the RPG elements found in the first one, but they greatly improve on the gunplay. The combat gets pretty fun in the other games, and the multiplayer in the third one is a blast. Quote
EliteShadowMan Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Evil Within has been kicking my ass in the later chapters. On around chapter 10, and I'm constantly just getting put into situations where I'm using all of my resources just to get by. Definitely keeps me on the edge of my toes, but at the same times it's starting to frustrate me a little bit. Kind of wish the game would go back to being like the first 5 chapters. Quote
solidbatman Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Still haven't decided what to buy. I really really want The Evil Within, but the PC problems worry me, and I don't want to play a horror game on console without my head set. I do want Alien: Isolation a lot, but it seems ripe for a price cut around Xmas. Meanwhile, Wolfenstein sits on my wishlist. Quote
