Have you tried downloading the file mentioned in the troubleshooting section?

Also try moving folder out of seeding folder and make sure your torrent client is off.

I did all that and it still pops up with the same message. Is it because it's not compatible with windows 8 yet or...?

I'll test it on Windows 8 later. But I believe it should work.

Is it worth putting a new version with a new bat?

If you run Luch's file it actually does this better.

 

I am in the process of uploading the game again, using Luch's file and cleaning up the directory.

VERSION 3 IS NOW UPLOADED.

 

You can get it from just downloading from the usual page, if you have version 2 and want to just upgrade changed files, see Troubleshooting section at the bottom of VN page.
