If only I had atleast some knowledge about translations, and also I don't know Japanese (though I dunno if that's a requirement unless you want to do solo translations?)

I'm pretty sure there is a group connected to Fuwa that was looking into working on a Saga Planets game but wasn't willing to do Hatsuyuki because another group was already doing it.  I'd suggest you call out to the people there and ask them to merge with your group, since they apparently have a translator.
