HataVNI Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 planetarian HD's translation history has been a big mess for the international market because it somehow had multiple European translations bundled into it, including a German one by Visual Arts themselves. The issue here was that this game - to this point - did not have English nor Japanese text included. I don't get what the hold-up was. It took 4 years between the release of a French and Spanish version and now the English and Japanese ones completed the package. You can buy planetarian HD here. Quote

If I remember correctly, Planetarian HD was published by Visual Arts directly, while the regular English version was done by Sekai Project. HataVNI 1 Quote

The thing is the HD Steam version also finally includes Japanese texts as well, although the Japanese only HD version has been sold in the domestic market for some while (in 2020 if one can check the VNDB). They could add the text simultaneously or even earlier since VisualArts-Key has the full right for HD on Steam from the start. On top of it, Sekai's version still hasn't announced to be off market for now, comparing to some license-end scenario like Navel's Shuffle under both Mangagamer and Yumehaven, in addition of they only had English and Simplified Chinese in publishing Key VNs.
