Ecreth Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I'm trying to uninstall Starry Sky from my computer since every time I try to open the Japanese file THIS comes out. But, every time I try to uninstall... BAM. Aaaand, if I click "No" it just... stops whatever it's trying to do, while if I select "Sì" /Yes/... DANG IT. Oh pls help me. /Btw, if I try to patch the -obviously damaged- file... it apparently succeds. I swear I have no idea.../ Quote
Sioxz Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 just delete the game files in your chosen path is most often C:\Program Files "you will have to search for it"(you will still have the registry posts left but you can remove them with Ccleaner easily) Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I think it's best to just use Ccleaner to unistall it at once, it'll clear the registry files too. Just a question, does the game have its own unistaller? That might be the case. Quote

Just a question, does the game have its own unistaller? That might be the case. Just tried with CCleaner... and it does exactly the same things *throws a chair in frustation* Asks me something in Japanese, if I select "No" nothing happens, while if I click "Yes" the other message appears. just delete the game files in your chosen path is most often C:\Program Files "you will have to search for it"(you will still have the registry posts left but you can remove them with Ccleaner easily) I tried deleting the game files, too... it is not working. I'm getting pretty desperate. Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Since i can't read the message I can't help much, Hopefully someone can read it and translate it for you. That's pretty odd though. Quote
Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 I know, right? :/ I wonder what's the meaning behind the Misterious Japanese Error Message. Maybe the game fell in love with my laptop or whatever. Quote
Sioxz Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 i guess you have tried the standard reboot and that you are a local admin on you can then should it be no problem but there is some deleter programs out there i haven't needed one for ages but just search for "permanet delete program" on google an go with the most promising one according to you Quote
Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Gave Freeraser a go - nothing happened. I... I surrender to SS. *faints* Quote
Nayleen Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 CCleaner to remove the uninstaller option from the Software dialog, clean up the registry afterwards and manual hunt-down of %appdata%, %programdata% and My Documents leftovers would be my way to go about it, obviously not for the faint of heart. Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 ...Would try if I hadn't already erased every file I could lay my hands on. Any other suggestions? Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Grab computer Wrap in bubble wrap Ship to antartica Sign yourself into an insane Asylum Problem Solved. Seriously though are there any files left? You're saying you erased every file so shouldn't it be gone? Quote
Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Grab computer Wrap in bubble wrap Ship to antartica Sign yourself into an insane Asylum Problem Solved. Will do. Seriously though are there any files left? You're saying you erased every file so shouldn't it be gone? I have no idea °A° I tried to delete everything, and I think I did, but the program is still there. And the error message too. Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Well if there are no files it's only natural the program gives you an error message. Did you run C cleaner to fix any errors and clear the registry entries? Aside from using it to unistall the software. Quote
Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 The problem is that it gives me the same message as before. Actually, no I didn't. How can I do it? Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Aside from cleaning junk around your computer C cleaner has other options and its own unistaller Click the registry option in C cleaner For unistalling things go to tools and select the software you wish to unistall. Quote
Ecreth Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 I tried, fixed something like 450 various issues... but it still won't delete. Now I know what to after gym: go on a killing spree. Quote
Nosebleed Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Nayleen is better than me at this, if nothing of that solves it i can't think of anything. Now i know one software i won't install.. Quote

REtransInternational Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Some variant of this should work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481 Just go to the registry key described there and find the right subkey, then delete it (make sure it's the right one first - you don't want to remove the wrong one.) Also if it's a 32-bit app (likely) and you're running 64-bit, then look here instead: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Quote
KyuubiKuroba Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Actually did you use a UTORRENT to seed the program? I had the same issue and what I found was that my UTORRENT always would start up and start seeding the files, making most of them read-only files. I ended up going and pausing the seeding and then it successfully uninstalled. Quote
