Rose Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 3d art never fails to amuse me, huge props for you, I've seen people do it and it's so hard. Quote
AMMSY Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 3d art never fails to amuse me, huge props for you, I've seen people do it and it's so hard. It actually not that hard, its just that.. like everything worth doing, it requires love and patients.. lots lots of patients. Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Does this thread counts to 3d art too? I have a work-in-progress project which I actually just about to finish the first character and I would love to hear opinions up til now: (please keep in mind this model is designed for real time rendering) Warning: I haven't textured the eyes yet, so it might be a bit creepy. The hair is using alpha map and extrnal texture so it won't be visible until the final render. thou in a previous render test (with lots of errors that have been fixed since) it look like this: very impressive, I look forward to seeing the final product. I have a couple of tags around somewhere I have to look for them though Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Picked up a few things looking at people's work here. This is like AMMSY's signature but modified. Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Well, I can see you messed around with the hue. How did you put in the lettering, though? I never really learned how to do that, since I learned how to use Photoshop from a photography class. Did you also make it have a transparent background? I just asked a graphic design artist to teach me a few basics. They know about text and perspectives. I made a fully modifiable Amane template that can be downloaded here. It'll explain it. You can use that however you want too. Quote

If so can you adjust it a bit? I liked the image in it's more natural colors, a little less bright I mean.. If thats okay by you. Quote

crunchytaco Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I just felt like throwing Esdeath into a dark forest somewhere. I'm not sure what else to add to the picture though. Quote

crunchytaco Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 thanks! using your modified version. Cool! I've just started learning PS, so thank you. Quote
Roach Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I'm fairly new at photoshop, so my works aren't that good. Here is some of my latest works anyway: I think the render is kind of too bright in this one. Black & White version because I like Black & White: Quote
Arturia Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 HMm Taco, that Image yo ucreated has a nice feel to it.. it is pretty hard to add a Character to a scenery Background in a way that is good for both of them. One thing you can do is save the image, and then ake a copy that you can Experiment with...Like add Brushs and color or .... i am not sure but yeh experiment is a good thing to do xD. And Roach, those Sigs look good.. i can feel the quality in them.. Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Itd porbably look better with a live model since its a live scenery lol. I see you really like ayanami Quote
Arturia Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 haha xD..Yeh to me she has something..can never figure it out though xD..Although in a not so distant future, ill probably change my Sig and Ava again..Might find something great to use. Quote
Tatsujin Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Roach, if you are up for some advice then you can take mine. Your signatures don't have that naturalistic look to them. Look at the character, then the background. Do that few times and you'll see that the colors don't blend. They don't 'flow' together if that makes sense. Another thing is that some of them have some very low opacity frames that, regardless of whether we can make them out or not, they don't go very smoothly. The last two are about right. The last one is. So what you did there is how you ultimately blend colors well. There are several ways to do so. You can give them an ocean or warm feel to it (won't go into that option yet) or you can play around with many different levels of colors. Go to Adjustment Layers > Gradient Maps and pick out a color of your choice. Mine are usually black and white, lower opacity between 30-50% and grab the eraser with 35-70% opacity and 40-70% flow with a fainted circular shape eraser (not the solid dot, the faint dot) make it large enough and erase a bit. Usually the focal point works well. That's one way to control colors and keep it blended and not highly saturated or have it very bright. Those signatures never stand out without sharpening them or doing some real creative work with filters. Anyways, try that out. You can toss the first or second PSD my way and I'll do it a bit my style and send it back to you with some instructions. Quote
Roach Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Yeah, I've noticed that too. I dunno, it look like Kanade just 'floats' on the background, I guess? And thanks for the advice! Although I'm not really sure about the stuff like what I am supposed to erase, etc. I guess I will just watch some tutorials on youtube. Can you tell me what this is called? Unfortunately, I didn't save the PSD for the first and second one since I'm not really planning to edit them anymore back then. I did save the third one though, so here it is if anyone is interested. It's really really really plain though, and I didn't even name the layers since I'm lazy. Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I made a Akame Ga Kill college. I think I'm happy with the results with the exception of Waves and maybe Bols pics. Accidentally saved over the PSD while converting the layers so can't go back unfortunately. Quote
Arturia Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Hmm cant take a look at the image right but do you mean Rendering? Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 trying to do some vector stuff ...... or whatever it is called I'm pretty new to vectoring myself, but correct me if I'm wrong about this. Saving it into a PNG file rasterizes the image no? Quote
Arturia Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Hmm i was just recently using Vectoring for OriginalRen, You have to Export the File as a .Tiff format... Well the quality isnt like that on the program but it doesnt pixilate like Rasterized like other formats crunchytaco 1 Quote
Rose Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Just re-read One Piece's marine ford arc. Decided to make something for my favorite character of the series, might use as a sign, I just loved how simple it ended. Quote
Tatsujin Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Ah forgot about Roach. Here it is:PSD. -- Something I put together this morning.Project Kagerou - Enomoto Takane Quote
crunchytaco Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So I'm thinking of getting a Wacom Bamboo Create to step up my art work. Also I want it to write Kanji. They have the older model for 89.99 on amazon. It's refurbished but I hear a lot of good reviews for it. My only issue is, I hate buying anything that gets replaced easily. When I buy something I'd rather spend more so it could last me longer. But spending more doesn't always equal quality and it could just burn a hole in your pocket. It's basically like what this lady is doing. She uses a touch sensitive pressure pen to draw, scribble, sketch etc on the screen. Some strokes and brushes aren't possible with a mouse. It's compatible with most editing software. Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions? Experiences? Quote
Tatsujin Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 2048 pen pressure is the best so be sure to look out for that. 1024 is manageable but once you get pretty good at it you'll hit that 'wall' with the device. I have the Cintiq 22 HD Touch ... fucking amazing - best drawing tablet, period. Only downside is it is not an IPS Panel ... fucking 2250 USD without an IPS panel is a retarded choice on Wacom's side. But I wouldn't suggest those at all. The 13 inch HD is about 1K or less and that's sufficient enough for economic use. Bamboo works really well and it's great. Just be sure to check the pen pressure. That's important. Along with the keys to the side. I have shit load of keys on the Cintiq and some extra touch pads on the back of the monitor of each side. Quote
