Anyone got tips for someone new to mounting multiple displays?

I'm looking to get extended monitors and I'm not so sure about mounting and all that. Anything to look out for?

I have 4 monitors but can't mount the 4th so I just stack it on my stand but you can just use eBay like i got mine and look for a stand since I am not allowed to put holes in my wall for my monitor

I'd avoid anything with articulating arms because they tend to be finicky in placement and alignment (unless you want to spend 300+ on an ergotron).

I got one of these for my dual 27's, but if you have a shallow desk you'll have clearance issues (though you can have a 3rd of the base off the desk without any issues: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TCMQ2Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
