Nosebleed Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 if you lack passion you have to compensate with your skills....j.c staff lacks both Well i can't deny that. When you fail over and over again something is defenitely wrong. I'm still hoping there'll be some sort of decent conclusion to the story. Just no more flashbacks naruto style Quote
Lewycool Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 This thread lacks pancakes. Solidbatman would not approve. (side note) I wasn't into the art style J.C staff used Made my favourite character look like a child when her personalty was the opposite. *sticks to the VN* Quote

suikashoujo Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I had been meaning to sit and watch the Refrain anime at some point, since I had been looking forward to its adaptation since the first season was announced in... what, April 2012? But after reading this, I don't know if I could get through it without crying over what could have been. Pretty sad; the VN is easily in my top 3 favorites list. Quote
Xypers Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 episode 11 is out, lets see if i can watch it without puking edit: i watched the episode and i'm quite surprised, they managed to do a great job this time, now lets see if they can do the same for the last episodes its a shame that they ruined everything else, i wanted at least masato/kengo/kyousuke+final to be as good as the vn, now even if this episode was good i'm sure the spoiler of the kyousuke route kinda ruined it, i can't tell if someone here is only watching the anime please share your feelings about this episode. Nosebleed Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Just finished episode 11 now It wasn't as bad as some others at least, it defenitely had more feels put into it. I still didn't like how Rikki suddenly accepts everything and takes it all in like it's a regular thing, but i guess it was to emphasize he was stronger. I didn't like how they made the entire episode out of that particular scene, i wanted to see a bit of the real world near the end, I guess we'll get that in the next episode. This is getting too stretched out already Quote

Nosebleed Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I don't think that scene was THAT huge even in the vn, if you look back on this episode it was just Rikki saying goodbye to everyone and that's it, they could have put something else in there in my opinion. I think 2 episodes are enough if they take the course of the VN though They can make the first attempt of Rikki trying to save everyone but failing due to his narcolepsy, then the episode ends with Rikki saying it's not enough and he has to become even stronger just like in the VN Then the final episode picks up where that one left off and Rikki finally calms down and saves everyone. Happy end~ Quote

Happy end~ Whaaaat??? I thought that was one of the biggest scenes! I cried there so much! I was seriously like, "Oh god, it's obvious what's gonna happen, oh god. Okay... keep it coming..." Then Kyousuke started crying. Then I started crying and was like, "Oh shit, I'm crying. I never cry! THE FEEEEELS!" (And yes, I've never actually cried on anything but LB!) And I get the feeling, they'll follow the VN for this one. Riki will be forced to run away with Rin, then they'll do that whole, "We'll make a new world," or whatever. Then Riki will get his piece, and they'll do a Rin thing where she meets everyone again, THEN they'll save everyone. To be honest, I thought they'd have Riki and Rin run away during episode 11. Then give us ending credits. Then right at the end, they'd pull a whole VN thing, in which Riki chooses, "It's not enough," or whatever they had in Japanese. Quote
Wahfuu Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 i wonder what was the point in ruining all the routes by removing the love component and replacing it with some bullshit friendship thing where the sentences that riki was supposed to say are said by everyone 1 sentence each....the whole group acted as riki in the vn, becoming unbearable to watch...also kengo was not supposed to be with the group for the first part of the anime, and yet he was there every single time....he just didn't join the training until later but for everything else he was there like a statue I actually have to disagree with this. The love parts of little busters VN are <horrendous> and it's my biggest annoyance with the whole product; The game makes absolutely no sense thematically because it bruteforces romance drama in a story of friendship (the entirety of the world-reset does nothing to compensate for this either). The anime could have been alot better if J.C was willing to go further and alter the stories more, but they kept in romance drama that needs romance to make sense. Quote

Nosebleed Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 On kind of an unrelated note, Little Busters OVA was released and is already subbed. I thought it was more refreshing than Refrain. I guess they wanted to make an entire episode dedicated to the battle ranking system that appears in the game and of course Mask the Saito. For a lighter feel i guess. And a bit of fanservice I particularly enjoyed Kurugaya and her plans to taunt others. Those were some of my favorite moments in the VN and i always laughed at them They REALLY want to adapt every little bit. What do you think? Quote
Xypers Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 i felt that it was an apology shaped in the form of an ova lol, pretty enjoyable Quote
