I just downloaded the visual novel Rewrite today, and when I tried to run it "Failed! Please run this file as administrator." although my account is the administrator.

I just downloaded the visual novel Rewrite today, and when I tried to run it "Failed! Please run this file as administrator." although my account is the administrator.

Right click on the file > Run as administrator

 

Just because you're the administrator doesn't mean you're running things as such. You have to select to run it as administrator yourself.

So that you don't have to keep starting it like that, right click the program, go to Properties, select the Compatibility tab, and check the box for "Run this program as administrator". Be careful about using this with some programs because it could be used as a backdoor into your computer, but with a game, it should be fine.
