Qwertymann Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Yo! Welcome to my modest little introduction thread where you can try to pry any kind of information from my cranium! I'll start off to say I don't think I'm very good at introductions. But at least I know what this site is about and what to start talking about... I love visual novels! Bet that was surprising. My most recent completion was Sharin no Kuni, Himawara no Shoujo (holy crap, long enough title?!) which I immensely enjoyed! Currently not reading anything, willing to accept a suggestion. I'm looking for something with a bit of action in it. Details aren't that important but I wouldn't mind some fist fighting. Okay! About me a bit, I guess? Other than the obvious, I'm quite the nerd. You should see my Magic: the Gathering collection! Actually, it's not that impressive. But I love the game. I live in the arctic lands of Canada and right now it's so cold outside. I spent like, ten minutes out there and it felt like I was getting frost bite almost. Not that I've had that before, so I dunno what it feels like, but it was awful. I don't want to go back out there. I generally like cold, but that is way too cold for my taste. Though I'm kind of used to it, being here for 23 years and all. And I guess that's my age! Ah, I should let you find out about me yourself... but as one random last tidbit, my favourite colour is blue... no, purple! Hope to find some new friends here too. ^^ Quote
nohman Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome, it's good to have you on the forums. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here and I look forward to seeing you around. As for recommendations, have you played G-senjou no Maou? If not, it'd be right up your alley considering you enjoyed Sharin no Kuni. You might also enjoy checking into the fandisc, Sharin no Kuni, Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo. Oh, and I'd also look into Grisaia no Kajitsu if you haven't already read it. Plenty of action in that. Quote
Cryptah Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Hey and welcome to fuwanovel forums! It's also bit cold here in Finland, but visual novels are here to help me survive As nohman already recommended, you should look into Grisaia no Kajitsu and also Rewrite if you still haven't tried it out. We also got a recommend me a visual novel threat so feel free to post there what you are looking for. Quote
Flutterz Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome to the forums! If you like long titles try Sharin's fandisk - Sharin no Kuni, Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo. Quote
Katatsumuri Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Hello, And welcome to the forums... And speaking of long titles, how about Koihime † Musou ~Doki ☆ Otome Darake no Sangokushi Engi~ (yes, that is the actual title) Quote
Qwertymann Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Thanks all for the warm welcome! Makes me feel a bit better despite this icy cold. @nohman - I have already Grisaia! Thanks for that suggestion. I'm waiting for the sequels on that one, as I've read on here that's where the real fun begins. :3 I'll keep Maou on a top "to-read" list then. @cryptah - Visual novel may not be a "need" but I don't disagree with them helping survival. They are quite a necessity when one becomes so addicted to them. Also have read Rewrite already. And while its action was definitely above average, I'm not looking for more paranormal-esque actiony things right now. Maybe later. I like that stuff too. @Flutterz - I plan on getting to that sooner or later. I'm just kind of craving some ass-kicking at the moment. Heh. @DarkDarkDark - thank you! I hope I can contribute to the community in some way. @Katatsumuri - oh man. If one were a believer that the longer a title of a visual novel, the better it is, that one would take the cake. Unless there's longer... oh dear. I'm having troubles with long titles as they are. I'll never remember that title, even if I read it 100 times. XD Hm... well. These are the VNs I have read, in order from least recent to most recent. Katawa Shoujo (this is such a common starting vn, isn't it? Day[9] introduced me to it on his Meta Dating show) Clannad Rewrite Stein's;gate Grisaia no Kajitsu Ever17 Yume Miri Kusuri Planeterian CrossChannel Sharin no Kuni, Himawara no Shoujo That's it for now.. I'm kind of a newb. ^^' And I can't read Japanese so I can only stick to the already-translated ones. Though I'd love to learn Japanese. Quote
Nosebleed Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome to the forums. Hoshimemo is not on your list? Blasphemy! Also recommend Little Busters since you've played 3 Key games already. Quote
shcboomer Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome to the forums, I second the suggestions for both Little Busters and G-Senjou no Maou. Quote
SieghartXx Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome to the forums! I recommend Majikoi for the fun, it has some combat too. Rewrite has combat too, and it's really cool D:! Everyone else already said some other cool vn, so I'll stop at that xD I hope you enjoy your stay and have fun. Quote
Yukiru Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Welcome, you should try any of Type-Moon games and with that i meant two of them because the other translated ones are spin off's from what i know. here's a quote "Is the king lonesome?" Quote
Qwertymann Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 @nosebleed - I am waiting for Little Busters Ecstasy before I read that one, but it's on my list for sure. @SieghartXx - Thanks! If a novel gets multiple suggestions, it will probably have a higher pick priority. @Yukiru - Type-Moon? I'll have to look into that, because I'm not quite sure who they are (I assume they are a vn studio, though?) Thanks everyone else for your welcomes. Seems like G-Senjou no Maou is popular. And hey, a title I'll probably remember. xD Quote
cryofrzd Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Welcome to fuwanovel Type-Moon they're known for tsukihime and fate/stay night, just informing, I second the recommendation. Hope you'll enjoy the stay. Quote
