So, I installed Grisaia No Kajitsu, and was running it just fine, I believe through Apploc, though it might not have needed it.  I've got windows 7, 64 bit and, again, was working fine, then when i tried to play it today i got a message that said  "Start Error: The game system could not start this game."  I suspect it may have gotten damaged when my computer crashed a few weeks ago, but can't be sure.

I've tried restarting my computer, running it as admin, in japanese locale, and unchecking read-only in the file properties, the last of which doesn't seem to work, i'll uncheck it, hit apply and when i go back into properties, it'll be checked.

anyway, if it turns out to be from the crash, how can i recover my save-data for when i re-install?(thankfully, I still have the install files.)  Grisaia is a long-ass game, and I'd really like to avoid losing my progress.

Saves are located at C:/Users/(Your username)/AppData/Roaming/Frontwing/Grisaia no Kajitsu by default, but even if you don't get your saves back, there's only 5 choices in Grisaia that actually matter, so you can just hold ctrl and skip to roughly where you were before the crash.

Thank's a bunch, i'll be sure to save that if i need to re-install.

but will I be able to skip if the game sees that i don't have any saves?  many of the VNs I've played restrict the skip function to however far you've gotten in the game.

Normally if there's a skip button in the UI, it will only skip read text, but there can sometimes be an option to change it to skip all text. But as a general rule, if there's a button you can hold down to skip (usually ctrl) it automatically skips all text.
