suikashoujo Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Really looking forward to Subarashiki Hibi and the Grisaia sequels. There are a few others, too, but those are the two (well, three, I guess) that I really, really want to see. Quote
InvertMouse Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I hear there's going to be a third installment in the 999/VLR series so I'm absolutely looking forward to that! There's hardly any news on it, though~ Quote

There's hardly any news on it, though~ I think it's obvious from my avatar that I love that series, and I'm dying for more info. At least we know when the game is taking place! Quote
TacticalBacon Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I have lots of VNs I'm looking forward to. I'm pretty hyped for Grisaia no Meikyuu, since i absolutely loved the first game. Other stuff includes Little Busters Ecstasy, Rewrite Harvest Festa, and Angel Beats. though i doubt they'll get translated anytime soon.. Quote
Eurobeatz Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Cartagra, Kara no Shoujo 2, and Euphoria. A lot of great non-moe VNs to look forward to. Quote
garejei Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Bradyon Veda, and as far as English localizations are concerned, Kara no Shoujo 2 because I want to see the English community's reaction to its True End. I'm preparing popcorn in advance. Quote

Swinter Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Angel Beats was amazing but I don't know about the ending, hope the VN is better in that aspect Quote
Vokoca Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I'm hyped for Chaos;Child way more than I probably should be. Â I have lots of VNs I'm looking forward to. Other stuff includes Little Busters Ecstasy, Rewrite Harvest Festa, and Angel Beats. though i doubt they'll get translated anytime soon.. Â Oh yeah, also really curious about those Grisaia VNs. I'm tempted to just attempt to read it right now, but Kajitsu scared me away with its seeminlgy advanced language. Quote
Zalor Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I can't wait for Dysfunctional Systems Episode 2 to be released. Unfortunately, due to low sales and some other reasons Dischan are behind schedule on development. Quote
Clephas Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Having played both of the Grisaia sequels, I seriously warn you that even if the second gets a translation patch, wait for the third before you play it. The main route is a serious cliffhanger that will have you throwing things at your computer if you play it before that. Uuu... That just makes me want to try to read them again, with my poor Japanese or not. Since you've read them already, how's the difficulty? I've only looked at the first few lines in Kajitsu and it looked really complicated to me, but maybe it actually isn't that bad? Quote
Katatsumuri Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Currently looking forward to a few translations, like for example: Aiyoku no Eustia (ME WANT!!1!), Mahou Tsukai no yoru, Fortune arterial, Koi to senkyo to chocolate, Yosuga no sora, The Grisaia sequels, among others... Quote
OriginalRen Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Having played both of the Grisaia sequels, I seriously warn you that even if the second gets a translation patch, wait for the third before you play it. The main route is a serious cliffhanger that will have you throwing things at your computer if you play it before that.  I asked some guy when I was standing in line at a store in Akihabara about the series and what he thought about it considering he was buying all 3 games at once at the time. I think by the time I got to the front of the line to checkout, he had spoiled the entire 3rd game for me. I then proceeded to walk home, ashamed, considering I've only finished the 1st. Quote
Clephas Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Avoid Aiyoku no Eustia. It uses G-senjou's route format, the side-heroine paths are even weaker (they make no sense in the context of the true route), the protagonist goes hetare near the end of the true route, and the main heroine is incredibly weak, pathetic, and annoying. This is the most overrated fantasy vn I've ever seen, at least partly because some people insist on recommending it to everyone. Quote
Yume Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I-i just want Sucre or Hotchkiss got translated. . . I pray everyday for it. . . ;w; Well, i'm looking forward to cocoro@function Quote
Tom Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 waiting for Rance Quest to be translated fully, dont think it will happen any time soon though Quote

It's also the only Medieval fantasy VN that I can think about that doesn't feature game play of some kind (something I want really badly.) But I can see how people hyping something that you think is meh as "the best thing ever" (has happened to me on quite few occasions, making me dislike DayZ and the whole Borderlands series due to people hyping it too much) can cause oneself to have a lot of dislike for something...  Well, in short, People's tastes will always be different  , but I will keep your opinion in the back of my head when I can read it all, whether it is translated, or I learn enough japanese... Quote
pandahao Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 mahoutsukai no yoru translation and the tsukihime remake is def on top of my list Quote
Clephas Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Medieval fantasy vns tend to either be rape-fests, gameplay-fests, or rather pathetic... I mostly despise Eustia because it is another example of August completely wasting the potential of an interesting cast of characters and a setting. It would have been forgivable if it had been a kinetic novel, straight to the true ending. However, it included side-paths that were completely inconsistent with the general situation that world is in. It was blindingly obvious, at least to me, that they were tacked on after the main story was written for the sake of h-scenes. The best swords and sorcery fantasy VN without gameplay I've run across is Tiny Dungeon (the whole series), and it is about one half comedy. Katatsumuri Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Medieval fantasy vns tend to either be rape-fests, gameplay-fests, or rather pathetic...  The exact reason of why I'm actually looking forward to Aiyoku is your above statement. And I don't particularly mind "routes that appears to have been tacked on at the end" either, since they are not "canon". but they do usually provide a little more insight of the world and characters...  Also, you're talking about it as "another example of wasting potential". Which is the other one you're referring to?  Note: maybe I should make a thread about this particular topic, so I that this one isn't derailed... Quote

I can immagine why someone wouldn't like Tia and why the side-heroine routes would annoy somebody, (they are basically just there for porn. They are hilariously even more ridiclous then they seem when you finish the game too) but 'Caim going hetare' is not just silly, it's downright wrong. If you actually pay attention to any of the dialogue in Eustia, especially one of his last conversations with Lucius where he outright calls Caim out on his bullshit, all his actions in the end of the game make complete sense. And it's not like Caim could have just 'saved the day' in that scenario; he had no idea that thing's would turn out the way they did. Sorry you don't like characters that actually struggle with themselves and aren't just layer upon layer of badassery, but don't say stupid shit like 'caim goes hetare.' It's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard when it comes to complaints about VN's. Quote
