Undying Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 So, im getting on the years here, and like all decent good old man I recently started to tell stories of how much better stuff was when i was but a little young boy, and one of the things I really liked more when I wasn't this old coot was the anime and manga artstyle of the time. Im looking for VN with similar artstyle right now, so I would like some tips, I'll post some examples. Words Worth policenauts Dividead Quote
Albedo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 YU-NO, Eve Burst Error and Desire have similar art styles, I think. Quote
Kafunanapa3 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Try Tsukihime, I haven't played it properly yet, so I can't really say what it's like. But the art is similar to your example. If I remember rightly it was first released in 2000. Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Critical Point for what's available in english Shinsetsu Ryouki no Ori 1 and 2 for the untranslated stuff: http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2013/05/import-games-for-adults-shinsetsu.html http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2013/10/import-games-for-adults-halloween_17.html While not really a VN, the Growlanser games have the artwork you're looking for and are close enough that I'd recommend them if you don't mind gameplay (and have a console or emulator to play them) Quote

Growlanser its actually on my backlog, gonna look for it, but right now I was looking for some more traditional VN without mixed gameplay in. Quote

Beato Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Kara no Shoujo isn't retro but it does feature a more realistic art style than most VNs. If you want other realistic styles you should probably look into western VNs like Cinders too. Quote
