Help - Error in If My Heart Had Wings

can anyone help me? i've been reading posts here about my problems about the game and the restoration patch, they've been solved but i've encountered a new problem.

 

an error appears instead of a character picture in the screen? does anyone knows how to solve this? please help?!

Did you download the game with the patch or download the game then install the patch? In any case, try reapplying the patch, or reinstalling, or re-download altogether.

I've downloaded them separately...and um, how do i add a screenshot?

For one, I think this belongs in the Technical Issues & Feedback subforum.

 

To printscreen: When the error is shown on screen, tap "prt scn" / "printscreen" on your keyboard, open an image editing software (MS Paint will do) then paste. Save as image file. If you can't paste then hold Fn or shift when tapping the printscreen button.

 

To show screenshot: Upload your screenshot in any image hosting website, (photobucket, facebook, IG...) then copy the image URL. There's an insert image feature in fuwa's posting format where you can paste this, and the image will automatically be displayed.

 

If that's too much trouble, you can also play another VN for the time being

I've... never seen this before. Sorry. 

Best advice I can give you is to start fresh and reinstall or redownload everything-- hope you'll find a fix quick

thanks...i'll try, but it really doesn't get fixed...i'll just try another VN. Think i'll just wait for an R18 version...

Like Emi said, it seems like the patch installation went wrong. A clean install would be a good idea.

 

Try to install the game outside the programs folder (create a folder for it somewhere else)

And run the .bat as administrator.

Aslo don't forget that the patching takes a while to be applied (10 to 15 minutes)

and you should wait till the CMD window closes on its own. (forcibly closing the window before the patching is finished will break the VN.)

If I recall correctly it doesn't close on its own.

When the patch is done installing it says "press any key to continue" and then it'll close.

Its most likely your patching thats gone wrong.

do an clean install and make sure to run the bat file as admin.  

that often happens when it doesnt patch certain file (dont remember name of it. but should be the cmd should show what file that havent been patched)

 

same happend to me first time. hence is why character sprites cant be found
