roninmedia Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Incidental Music (IM), also called "insert songs" or "featured songs", are songs or musical pieces that occur within the body of the anime. They differ from Background Music (BGM) in the amount of "attention" they are given - for instance, there is seldom any dialogue over IM, whereas dialogue frequently occurs over BGM. Insert songs will always have lyrics. My favorites are Aozora - Air TV, Episode 13 Akatsuki No Kuruma - Gundam Seed, Episode 40 God Knows - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Episode 13 Honoo no Tobira - Gundam Seed Destiny, Episode 40 Mizu No Akashi - Gundam Seed, Episode 36 Winter Wish - Love Hina Christmas Special Quote
