Let's see, out of what I've played (which isn't much at all)...

You haven't mentioned 999 (which you've no doubt played, since you've played VLR), or Never 7 (its plot isn't as crazy as the others in the infinity series).

Higurashi and Umineko have certainly interesting and intriguing plots, but their style is undoubtedly different from those you've mentioned.

 

Hum... I wouldn't rely on me if I were you, other people may be much better informed about these kind of things.

I heard unlocking all endings give you a secret tip. My problem however is that I CANNOT UNLOCK THE THIRD TIP

 

Otherwise I have 3 or so more scenes that are locked, and around 20 tips.

I heard that Steins; Gate is sci-fi as well, though I do not know if they unfold similiarly(I'll read that after I finish Remember11(all TIPS and bad endings) and Never7.)

You need to unlock all others to unlock the last 10 TIPS as far as I know.

By "others" I mean the tips from 1 to 100. You see them in the game and they appear in the TIPS screen for more info about it, the blue underlined words/phrases you see while reading the VN(or even other tips!) are TIPS. I cannot unlock the third one *grits teeth* Making sure you have chosen each option helps.

I think the ones around 70 were during Enomoto's explanation in Day 4. Review any TIPS that are something technical and make sure that you have 100%'ed the explanation scene(s). 

 

 

I am missing a few TIPS from the 90's, I hope I'll get them when I get the last few bad ends.

As a matter of fact I'm trying to get Kokoro's ends done first for some reason.

Mayuzumi you bitch! :x You think all you have to do is cry and people will forgive you, "I was scared, I couldnt trust anyone waaaa" Well whoopee fucking-doo, everyone else was scared too. I find her selfishness deeply unattractive

Well, I've only played the Kokoro Route so far so I cannot really add anything that hasn't been said yet, just wanted to give my opinion on Kokoro's route though. I really liked the way the Story developed, it was just at the right pace, also Yomogi was a really likeable character, same for Hotori (I know she seems to be some Psychopath with DID, but hell, she's one damn cute Girl).

 

The only downside I found so far regards two aspects - first of all, Mayuzumi the bitch. Such an unbelievable pain in the ass, this woman was the most annoying and hateable non-Antagonist I've seen in a Long time. The way she acted like she was worth more than anyone else pissed me off so hard, and she always bossed Yomogi around... god, I hate this bitch.

 

And second, Kokoro. Yes, in my opinion Kokoro is one of the main Points why I cannot consider this VN "exceptionally good" (well, I wouldn't go so far anyways since I've only read ~5 VNs so far). She is the personified cliché of a hopeless, defenseless, useless and naive woman. Why does she place so much trust in Yuni? I don't trust the Boy at all, I mean, I didn't even finish the VN yet but something about him is simply disturbing. The way he can say absolutely terrifying things without batting an eye, and especially the fact that he's in both SPHIA and the shelter cabin. I don't trust him, and yet Kokoro risks everything at one  Point just to save him. Well, might just be because I hate Kids, but still, I don't trust the Boy, and I think something is seriously wrong with him.

Well, back to Topic, Kokoro annoyed me pretty hard since she acted so pathetically. I already thought to myself

there must be 2 Yunis, one from the future and one from the present, and those two Switch just like Kokoro & Satoru do

after a short while and for what felt like half a day I sat in front of my Computer, cursing Kokoro's idiocy for thinking that he's "teleporting". I mean, for god's sake, the Girl has been switching personalities with someone several times, but the Thesis that

"maybe our minds are not just travelling in space, but also in time?!"

seems unlikely to her? After all, she was simply useless and the only reason she would've survived was because of Satoru. Characters like Kokoro can be really nice as supporting roles, but as a Protagonist, in my opinion she is exceptionally useless.

I agree about Yuni being creepy, and some of his interactions and the things he says like "Do you want to prove I'm not a child?" and stuff trying to be sexy, are just wrong :s

You're right about Mayuzumi being supposed to be a Tsundere, but still, I cannot stop hating her. Geez, usually I love Tsunderes. Taiga, Kurisu, Louise, those are some of my all-time favourite characters, but there was simply no "dere" about Mayuzumi.

 

Oh yeah, Yuni is so damn creepy. Well, Kokoro sure is very sweet and caring, but as a Protagonist, I think she's useless. Satoru basically has to do all the work, she never would've even thought of writing letters so that they can communicate. Without Satoru, Kokoro would've already died the first time she was assaulted in SPHIA. And yet, she starts to distrust Satoru simply because he defended himself against the Person who tried to kill him... Seriously, I hate this girl. ^^

At the start I thought Satoru was a bit of a jerk but he's actually really smart, a great character.

As for Mayuzumi

I know what you mean! I mean, I just really hated her. Even in her flashbacks she's so damn childish giving her boyfriend that "You must be obey me" crap - even if it was meant as a joke, that's not how a loving relationship works.

Her "dere" is basically 'I was so scared, waaaaa" Well that's just TOUGH! Everyone else was scared too but all tried to get along, except for you. And you stole everyone's last remaining food too. FUCK YOU!

I've finally finished the game, as good as I expected it to be : )

Ever 17 is more complete, but this is better paced, and voice acting was great.

 

I didn't hate Mayuzumi Lin, the game tried so hard to make me hate her but I didn't I think if we had a third route, she was going to get more development, and we may understood why she is clinging to life and acting the way she does.

I agree with you, I think the younger girl at the beginning is a younger Inubushi Keiko, and I also think, that she (or her evil side) is the '3rd personality' (not sure?) The Suzukage Hotori personality transferred somehow even though the real Hotori was frozen

Did you also finish atleast some of the bad ends? Because I think they explain both of your questions. I remember reading about

who is present in Hotori's body at what times and where the other personality is: If I recall correctly there are actually 3 personalities that switch places: Hotori, Inubushi, and the babies of Utsumi. The Babies are still in Utsumi's womb and do not have a conciousness yet, that is why at some times the characters miss time and are unconciousness. This is the place Hotori describes as "being alone in the dark red room". This is the "third place" they transfer to at that point, it is a womb where 2 babies are "present".

Also: At some point both Satoru and Kokoro mention actions both of them don't know anything about, at the same time sometimes Hotori acts like a madman, breaking a lot of stuff while saying things that literally make no sense "just like a little baby". I think this is literally the baby transferring to their body.

I don't exactly remember what information was in the routes and what info was in the bad ends to be honest. I repeated the game so many times.. and I think it's more than a year ago by now.

 

About your second question

You are made to think that the girl is Inubushi Keiko, but it is actually Sayaka, Yukidoh Sayaka, this is confirmed by a cg you get when you complete the bad ends too. And yes you're right, the project was started by Satoru to save his sister.

 

You could discuss R11 for years and still be able to come up with new theories, and it is still fun. I like these kind of stories a lot and in this case it kinda makes up for the game being incomplete.

It's a bit more complicated

than Inubushi = Sayaka. R11 is another game where the focus lies on the reader (you), and in this story they

make you think that at the beginning you're seeing Inubushi, but this is actually Sayaka all along. And because you (the reader) sees her as Inubushi, Sayaka doesn't "exist" anymore. Yukidoh's plan here is to change this (by making you experience an infinite loop). I used to know a lot more details to explain it, but I have to admit it has been too long to remember them all.

 

The main character you're seeing is Yukidoh in the body of Enomoto (this is why Lin says "you're not Yukidoh" in one of the endings, because it isn't his body).

HMM.. I don't remember that well but I'm pretty sure you

have to do Kokoro's route with a specific choice, (then probably safe it to system) and then go to Satoru's route and go to the part where you have to choose between snowboarding and basketball, then you pick

snowboarding, that's all I know ->I got it when I went for the snowboarding choice by accident.

I think the Kokoro choice was

the one where she was satoru and has to check something with Yuni. But please don't expect it to be 100% right :x but atleast you can try
