Cleric_in_Training Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Greetings my fellow VN brethren! I beseech thee, lend us your strength. We at Fallen Snow Studios are in dire need of reinforcements! Sorry, I have a habit of reverting to old speak. Basically, we're making an original visual novel and are recruiting an editor, composer, and background artist. There are a couple of requirements though. Requirements for everyone applying: - Skype (Don't worry, we use if for chat, not calls) - Motivation (Can't have you abandoning us, can we?) Composer Requirements: - Be skilled with a synthesizer - Send us a sample of your work Background Artist Requirements: - Send us a sample of your work Editor Requirements: - Skilled in English - Take a test (PM me for it) Now you may be wondering as to what the VN's about? Well it's actually going to start out as a slice of life comedy and transition into a mystery. So grab your magnifying glass, cause we've got some solving to do. And of course, this being a VN, there will be heroines. Four in total, each with her own route packed with drama and romantic goodness. This isn't an eroge by the way. We at Fallen Snow Studios look forward to working with you. New members are given complimentary hats. Positions Already Filled: - Path Writer - Plot Writer - Lore Writer - Character Artist - CG Artist - Engine Designer - GUI Designer Anything not covered above that you think you can fill? Send us a PM then! You can follow our progress here: http://vnchan.wordpress.com/ Quote
Diamon Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 We'll also give you cookies if you join us! (precise date not specified) If you have anything you want to ask, or want to apply for a post, PM me or Cleric! Quote
Okami Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Can't feel any of required positions, but I wish you a good luck. Quote
Diamon Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Well, it would be basically editing the writing for some of the writers, since some of us are not english native speaker, so it would be mostly rewording, and syntax correction. Also, we might use an editor to harmonize the different writing styles between all the writers. Quote
shcboomer Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Sounds like a pretty rough task for just one editor to do. Also would you expect the editor to "fix" stylistic things too? Quote
Cleric_in_Training Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Sounds like a pretty rough task for just one editor to do. Also would you expect the editor to "fix" stylistic things too? I guess I wasn't really clear about the editor's duties. True that we have some nonnative speakers writing, but grammar and spelling corrections aren't what we really want from you. We want someone that can smooth out the writing and add to it. Try to spice it up and such without changing the meaning. You still would make grammar and spelling corrections, but this job requires more creativity than knowledge. Right now, we won't expect you to match all the writing styles because, in theory, if we have a certain writing style edit all of the others, they should sound somewhat similar in the end. It isn't actually that hard, I've been doing all the editing so far. It's just that I'm also a writer as well and I need to be able to focus on my own writing. Don't worry though, I'll still be editing, even after we get a new editor. Quote
BasilOil Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Do you guys still need an editor? If so, could you send me a copy of the test for me to fill out? Thanks Quote
